Surgeon (Doujun) Questline Ending Help

I'm at the part where you have to fight the red-eyed surgeon and the other dude I gave to him and I'm finding it impossible. There's no way to dispatch one with stealth and the area is the size of a closet. The closest I've come to winning is by jumping in the water, going around, and getting a pot-shot off whoever decides to charge me, but it took forever and they whittled me down. Doesn't help that they hit like a truck.

Does anyone have a strategy for this? I use my flame vent but I run out of emblems before I even get their health to half.

concentrate attacks on the samurai while they're both flinching from flame vent or other flame tools (or firecracker). Do not get hit by the uppercut slash.

dojun himself is easily spammed into a corner afterward on account of having the barefisted monk moveset.

i have a problem with this quest maybe some of you guys can help.
i gave the surgeon the red eyes after i sent him the samurai. then i bumped into the samurai (ghost) in that cave/room where the elevator goes up. But i cant find the surgeon no more. Where are they in real form? Did i mess something up? Was already in surgeons workplace after diving through that entrance and opened up his celldoor.
What now? please help someone i am right before the ape-fight and i am worried i cant get to them later anymore

the elevator is already past the location where they should be. The ghost is also not the samurai atleast the one i fought there was the ghost of a regular ashina castle soldier. They should be standing together on a small island with a row boat at the shore

It's a very annoying fight with a very lackluster reward for sure. What did it for me in the end was to play it super careful, constantly disengaging by going into the water and climbing back onto land at a different spot. The goal is to separate the two, which is possible because the samurai tends to be much more aggressive than the monk. The idea is to make him come to you and get one or two hits on his health in before jumping away again when the monk catches up. Annoying and no fun but using hit and run tactics you can eventually get their health down if you're not a deflect god who can take them both at the same time (I wasn't). Don't think I'll be doing this quest again.

i read that its possible to stealth one when you have them 2 skills and a stealth trinket. But wher on what shore should they stay?
after that underwater entrance to that surgeons cavecell?

They can be found on the island in the middle of that water passage of the abandoned dungeon. Hard to miss, it's got a bunch of torches on it. Normally it's populated by 3 bandits but when this stage of the quest is active, they'll be there instead.

Don't know about the stealth though, I didn't have the needed equipment to do it. With only suppress presence learned, I was not able to assassinate either.

Them? There was only the samurai for me. Not the surgeon.

Don't wanna read what has already been written.. All i did was to use the stealth sugar and puppeteer the doctor = ez win.

just killed them. didnt even use the puppeteer. Stealth the surgeon and came back for the other one. What an op couple and what a reward - lol

Yep, I was trying to do this again yesterday and remembered sugars were a thing. It turned an impossible fight into a faceroll. GG sugar would imbibe again

im running into ghosts all over the place....ninjas in the village, sword guy in the dungeon.....at this point i had not turned in the quest for handing over the samurai (the one at the entrance to the well who talks about hearing music) but i had lured him in, then i headed to the village for some farming...in that spot where there are two hammer guys and a few villagers, i was sneaking up on the guys....and then the ninja ghosts popped up and started flipping around, i barely survived because i puppeted a hammer guy...are they going to show up everywhere now?

Doujun never appeared on the island for me. The red eyed samurai was there but Doujun is still in that cave crying about his master.

Also, I never came across any non-mist ghost enemies apart from the 1 by the dungeon/senpou elevator. Didn't see any ghost nightjar or even that ghost samurai on the bridge just past Orin. I have no idea why they aren't appearing for me and I can't find any information anywhere. Mist boss is required to progress since he has a wall preventing you from going forward.

ran into some sword guys in the gun-fort valley, ninjas in the temple area, more sword guys in castle grounds areas, ninjas in the hunchback village....they didn't show up on my first playthrough, and seemingly randomly on this one....i started a new game not ng+.

so i was a bit confused to see them initially to say the least
