Also this is Steam and a PC exclusive client, I'd advise you to go to Reddit or some other forum which have a Switch dedicated section.
just a simple answer.
This was mostly true for the Wii & the Wii U but with the Switch they're also targetting the more 'serious' audience and much more PC, Playstation and/or Xbox owners do have a Switch then compared with the Wii and Wii U.
There's quite a lot of adult orientaded VN's and JRPG's on the Switch and the VN's beeing a complete Steam clone.
You also have DOOM on the Switch which is a pegi +18 adult game.
There's actually a pretty active Switch community.
Not many other tripple A companies have or plan to port their games over the the Nintendo Switch.
And from what I heard porting to the Nintendo Switch is actually not that easy and require 'more then usual' time and money.
A lot of people who own a Switch also own a PC, PS4 and/or Xbox One. All of these are much more powerfull then the Switch.
The other 'issue' is the Joy-cons of the Switch. I cannot play a souls like game with Joy-cons, and I'm not the only one.
The pro controller however is fine but you can only play in TV or Tabletop mode with the pro controller wich eliminates the portability.
So, why would I want to buy this game on the Switch when I can play it on PS4 or PC with higher framerate and much better quality?
^ I'm not the only one thinking this.
I love my Switch and I also love the games I have on it (mostly exclusive Swtich games).
But when there is a game I won't play as handheld then I'd much rather take the PC or PS4 version which has the better quality and framerate.
And this also comes in the marketing.
I'm not saying the game will never come to the Switch but this is just my thoughts.
Fromsoft is going to port Dark Souls remastered on the Switch but they aren't porting Dark Souls 4...
I'm pretty sure the reason is about the grapich quality. Dark Souls is a very old game and even with new 'remastered' quality features it's much much easier to run on weaker hardware then DS4.
Because Reddit is the only place to talk about stuff, right? I am not opposed to you advising the OP to bark up another tree, I'm just perpetually bewildered as how Reddit seems to have won a war I didn't even know was being fought. And I spend too much time on the Web, and still missed that.
I said Reddit and other forums. How did you came up with the 'Reddit is the only place to talk about stuff'?
My point still stands that Steam is for the PC and you're better of on Reddit (which is one of the most active forums worldwide and has a Switch section), or other gaming forums that are or have a section for Switch.
There's many out there, google is your friend to find them.
Many sites keep doing this simply because cross-platform isn't standard and every time there's a "winner" in the current console generation (which is always) that company actively avoids supporting cross-platform play to the detriment of their chances of being the next console war winner. Just looking forward to one of them having someone who actually thinks long-term and appreciates the customers enough to do what's right for the company's ongoing performance.
https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/
There you go subreddit for Switch. There OP can ask this question.
Alternatively, you could actually read my post and realise the correct link would have been the Sekiro subreddit... but that works too.
Wow, didn't think something so trivial was a top reason why. I really could not care less about forum organization. I find a venue to rant, I post. It's that simple. Guess I'm the only one to think that way.
Don't sass me. It's because so many -- maybe not you -- fly off the mouth with Reddit (and for different situations, Twitter or Snapchat or sometimes something that isn't that great) whereas I presume most of us don't care either which way. No offense, but if we're gonna get hung up on words then let's dance the nasty.
Also nintendo really wants such games on switch, because then its much more possible to break their console or its part, and then people will have to buy new one, thus increasing their hardware sales
