Even if you have defeated the last boss and gotten the ending you desire, the game will not automatically send you to NG+ as it will sak you if you want a new playthrough, say no and you will return to the world and you can start NG+ with the sculptor idol.

There's technically no "Point of no return" since the game will ask you if you want to go into NG+ or not. HOWEVER, Ashina Castle and Ashina Outskirts will change drastically with some areas even becoming unavailable for the rest of the playthrough after you fight the boss at the Palace, which you enter via a cutscene. You'll know it when you find it.

Also, after getting the three required items for Kuro ("Mortal Blade" and two others), Ashina Castle will also change. So make sure that you get all the minibosses in the Castle or else you might not be able to get all Prayer Beads.

If he's at the Demon of Hatred then he's already past all of the changes to the castle.

As others said, you can continue the playthrough even after watching the ending, and go to ng+ when you choose.

Oooooooh that's what he meant with a three heart fire monkey.

Divine Dragon is kind of a point of no return, you can't progress the different ending quests after that moment.

Yes and no. You can't progress any quest step requiring Kuro, Emma, Isshin, or Sculptor.

If you advance at least as far as acquiring the second bell / kuro's rice ball, then you can continue to progress them. The purification quest is just combat after that point, and the return quest only needs you to interact with the Divine Child.

Imagine being the embodiment of years of bottled up hate and wrath, being surrounded by death and destruction, and then getting called a fire monkey.

On the topic: I'd say Divine Dragon is a point of no return if you want to do anything in Outskirts or Castle.
Everywhere else stays mostly the same at any point in the game.
