Was there not two giant snakes in the game,It would make sense if they could breed (if you call that sense in a game thou) but it would help the game lore if they could
I could take a guess that the snake in the canyon (that we kill later on) is male ,
The snake in the cave guarding the shrine was female, due to being very protective in her nature to protect her nest
I thought there was only one snake, and the second one was dead, hence the hears isnt it?
The one in the shrine doesn't have injury on his eyes iirc
After killing the snake , later on i when't back to the shrine cave as i missed some items ,
the snake was still guarding the shrine ...if i recall it correctly

Outskirts snake is probably male too but i'm not sure.
