anyone have recommendations for what shinobi prosthetic tools are the best

I like long spark fire cracker. And for demon of hatred umbrella. And sometimes for dogs only shuriken

Depends on your play-style entirely imo

Shuriken gets fairly strong with upgrades (especially the butterfly path)

Firecracker can be good for stuns

Malcontent can be used to cheese the demon of hatred boss.

Purple Umbrella can block terror build-up against the headless' and the shichimens

Sabimaru is really good against the okami warriors at the fountainhead palace.

(lazulite) Axe is good for breaking shields and aoe

Flame vent + Living Force gives a very high dps against most bosses.

1, firecracker. Use this before you heal.
2, umbrella. Without charm and demon this just like shield in ds3, especially terror umbrella for headless and shichimen warrior, fire umbrella for demon of hatered
3, shuriken. Kill dogs and interrupt enemy heal.
4, axe. Kill minions with shield.
You can ignore the others.

Don't over look these Prosthetic Tools

Spiral Spear - When you deflect Guardian Ape (Phase 2) strong attack, when he get's down you can use Spiral Spear to yank the Centipede out of Guardian Apes neck, which deal large damage.

Suzaku's Lotus Umbrella - Best when fighting Demon of Hatred if you are having a hard time dodging his Fire Base Attacks.

But what I'm using right now in NG+3 is

Lazulite Shuriken - Chasing Slice [RT + RB] for closing distance with enemies.
Suzaku's Lotus Umbrella - Defensive utility
Great Feather Mist Raven - For teleport

Long Spark Firecracker is definitely the best I think. It's nearly instant cast and can temporarily stun nearly any enemy in the game. Highly recommend getting it asap.

Second best I'd say is the Shuriken. It's invaluable for killing small enemies from a distance, can be used to interrupt other enemies from certain attacks, and can stop enemies from regenerating posture. The Phantom Kunai sucks btw just get Gouging Top and then Lazulite when you can.

After that they all have uses but the next prosthetic I use the most is (Sparking) Axe. It does massive posture damage, the sparking version is great against red eye enemies (they hate fire) and can set enemies on fire, but the biggest thing for me is that you have super armor while using it meaning you are not interrupted by enemy attacks. When I need a guaranteed hit on an enemy to finish them off the axe is a godsend.

Again, they all have uses, but I also want to shout out that the Loaded Umbrella is a far stronger defensive tool than most people think. I must admit I rarely use it but I can't imagine beating a certain endgame boss without it.

Long Spark Firecracker: Best option is many fights.

Okinaga's Flame Vent: Probably the most damaging prostetic when it works and some enemy are completly defenseless while they burn. Works wonders against the brown ape in the 2 apes fights. It wreaks some mini bosses too.

Malcontent: Great way to ease the Demon of Hatred 3rd phase.
