endings question

can you get purification and return on the same playthrough? i did everything for both of them and im not sure if you get to save before the decision or not

You can technically do all the endings in NG and one save file for as long as you keep making a backup before you do the ending, but honestly why are people so afraid to go into NG+?
Btw the game pretty much saves every few seconds. And if you leave it also saves. There's no manual saving.

im on ng+ already and got immortal severance the first time, not sure I want to do ng+2 just for one more ending, just curious if i have to beat the last boss twice to do it

I think you can just quit the game after beating the boss, make a backup, then do the different endings. Unlike Shura, the other endings aren't mutually exclusive and if you carry all the items, you can select which ones to give to Kuro to trigger the different endings.

I got all achievements done on a single save file. NG+ and every time after that doesn't make the enemies that much harder and you become far more skilled as you move along. I don't understand why everyone is so afraid of NG+

Me neither. You keep everything you had before, minus quest items and minus story items required to progress through the game but since you keep everything else, there's no real reason to fight the minibosses again or explore the areas. You can literally just rush through the areas and fight only the mandatory bosses and be done very quickly.

I backed up my save after the fight and got the last 2. Beating the game twice was enough for me, dont wanna do it 4 times. not scared of ng+, just dont think its very fun past a certain point

Opening the menu and closing it triggers a "manual" save.

And as for NG+, save scumming the endings means you can 100% it on NG+2, rather than completing NG+3. It's not fear so much as just boredom - while the first playthrough is very fun, the NG+ on this game isn't very good, and I wouldn't care to go through this four full times just to see other endings.

you can make a backup befor talking to owl and one after defeating sword saint isshin but befor talking to kuro. this enables all 4 endings in 1 playthough

but if you want the 100% archivment you need to play ng+2 anyways.
for all protetics you need 10 lapis, of which you get 6 only per playtrough.
and for the all end bosses you need a single run in which fire isshin n sword saint isshin were defeated.
since you cant get any lapis in the shura ending you need 3 playthoughs on 1 file

Except you're not going through four "full" times. NG+ only takes a fraction of your original playthrough because you can literally just run through the areas, kill the handful of mandatory bosses and be done with it in a couple of hours. Plus you still have to do new stuff to meet the requirements for the different endings.

That's not entirely true. You can just make a backup just before Owl, do the Shura ending, restore your backup and do the normal ending. Then in NG+ you can get the remaining lapis and the other items for the other two endings, then just before the endings you make a backup again and go through one ending, restore the backup and go through the other ending.

The real problem for the 100% Achievement is unlocking all the Skills because doing it like that will mean you have a ton of farming ahead of you simply because you didn't even bother going into NG+3 to get all four endings without save scumming.
