the path of further hardships

Hey,

right now I am trying to beat the game while path of further hardships is active.
Yesterday, after countless tries, i managed to beat father owl. While fighting him i always thought if anyone did even test this mode? Well like I said, with patience and a lot of luck i killed him.

Today I am trying to beat Isshin as the final boss. Did anyone manage to kill him while hardships is active, without cheesing? Right now i feel like it is impossible to beat him with deflects, and again I am thinking: did anyone even test this?
With father owl i always felt like it is possible but just to hard but trying to kill Issshin seems pointless.

If somebody managed to kill him please let me know. If so, I know it is just my lack of skill or practice :-)

I did. On NG3 and on NG9. NG3 was hard because of low attack power, NG9 was manageable, but he still can easily oneshot you. I didn't bother deflecting everything, I just baited his jumping attack.

NG+ and without healing with additional hardships (AKA No Kuro Charm). No cheesing. Pure skill. Dude didn't even die once in the entire game.

Not necessary. You will do enough damage with the boss memories you obtain.

Yep, managed it on NG+7 bell demon and no charm with no damage taken. It just takes practice. And remember that Isshin is one of the easiest bosses in the game in all 3 phases to control what he does. You can and should be aggressive, though in his second and third phases you have to be watching him carefully when attacking him and be ready to stop attacking and switch to defense if you don't see him stagger from one of your attacks.

Thanks, for the tips guys. I guess I have to wait for the weekend to kill him, to much work to do :-(
But this dude in the video is really impressive. Seeing him makes me want to kill Isshin even more

Killed him by posture in NG+7 with bell and no charm, a lot of his attacks can one shot you and if your posture breaks mid-combo or you take a hit below half health, death is almost certain. But by that point, you should be pretty familiar with his timing and patterns, so its no that bad
