no we dont have to talk about it. if you're offended by it, you're an idiot.

"If you're offended by it, you're an idiot". Be careful what you speak, it cuts the both sides, because a lot of you do sound defensive and "offended". :steamhappy:

Mods are one of the things that make PC gaming great, having the power to make an experience that YOU enjoy. If you use a mod that makes the game easier but you enjoy it more, then good. Some people play games because they want to overcome a challenge and that brings them enjoyment and that's fine, others aren't as bothered and that's fine as well!

As well as this, if people can make the game easier of their own accord it frees the developers up to fully develop their vision without having to work on different difficulty levels.

Yeah. What I was trying to say, but I got mired in "git gud". "Git Gud" is a sort of (intelectual) elitism if you ask me. And I was also trying to ask another thing:

Which one's more important:

Original(authorial) version
OR
Modded(personalized) version

But I guess I need to "git gud".

All I'm saying is that modding since day 1 existed to change something fundamentally, idk about this one, just the controversy, but its fine to add new weapons and skills and abilities and what not, whats wrong with difficulty mods?

just because the inherency of the game's difficulty it's outrageous to mod in an easy mode?

absolutely and completely unfathomable as to why would someone ever care if someone play any game on walk in the park mode or borderline masochism if either doesn't affect each other gameplay in any way, if it did, if maybe there was some sort of ranking at very least then it is something to discuss about, but correct me if i'm wrong, aint this single player?

No
What about it?

What do you think about it? Is the authorial intent or personal enjoyment more important(when not aligned)? Why is "difficulty" even praised? There's so much to talk about tbh.

Its just a cheat. Nothing more.

It's single player, do whatever you want. Kind of defeats the purpose of the game but cheat to your hearts content I guess. I think it's lame but who cares what I think

Would defeat the point of the game for me but it's single player, let people do what they like.

I can see it being great for people with very busy lives who just want to see the game they paid for but don't have the time to git gud.

Yes, there is.

Just see everyone else. I also agree with them. It's singleplayer, let people do whatever they want. Now, "authorial intent question" is really interesting. Is the intended experience more valid than the preferred experience. Things like that.

I'd also want more such "Smash and Grab" mods, I'd personally like one for Nioh.

There isn’t any talk, if you want to cheat go nuts, these discussions of cheating is a waste of time.
I cant beat sword saint... Maybe one day but its not worth it atm so i move on to other things, if i never beat it legit then... oh well:steamhappy:

Keep at it, eventually you just pick up his pattern heck use cheese tactics. You’ve come this far stopping now will make it harder later.
There’s nothing wrong with difficulty mods in single player games. I would still suggest attempting with the best of your ability to play through the normal difficulty, or do so after beating the easier version.

Define "legit". Is "legit" something someone else says is legit or is legit anything that gets the job done? Especially if what gets the job done is also aligned with personal preferences.

Just normal, no mod/cheats

So, it is something from the outer sphere. Shame.

If I see something I don't like or that is broken, my first reflex is to try to change that object. What others say or think? Devil may care ; I don't bother others if I mod a Singleplayer game.
