It can take 20+ hours if you fail frequently, but a more or less flawless run takes just under 8 hours.
Regardless, there are some things you may miss on your first playthrough worth checking out in NG+ or something and getting all the endings.
Honestly dont know how you can drag a playthrough for 35 hours straight.
It's a shame, but this game is nowhere near as long as one would like it to be.
If you are into "Soulsborne" games, then you might spend more than 60hrs to set foot on every inches of the map, killing every hidden enemies and optional bosses, learning every skills, and upgrading everything. Some lore obsessed people like me even try to interact with post-quest NPCs and hear what they might say after certain events.
I am still in the first play through, right at the "Turning point" of the main story. I spent so much time exploring the mountains and trying to kill/loot all the hidden stuff. What disappointed me is that there is not too much lore-related stuff besides giving alcohols to different people and listen what they say.
I underrated those lore while I was typing the reply. Now you recalled it and those are in fact interesting, but those have less fantasy feeling compared to what souls series gave me. Afterall Sekiro is partially based on a true culture, Imo those have less "wow" impact to me.
