Also worth noting, you don't strictly *have to* use confetti. I certainly wouldn't want to fight them without it, but it isn't required.
The headless are hard IMO because their movements are just so weird and erratic so it can throw you off your parry timings compared to normal enemies. The other annoyance is the slow fog sucks so much. I don't see what it adds to the fight aside from frustration. I thought I heard that you can somewhat reduce the fog effects through attacking/good parrying, etc. but I have yet to see this actually happen during my encounters with the things.
Random aside, does anyone know what the heck the headless does when it gets that grab attack on you? Honestly first time I saw it it looked like he was ripping out my spine.
As much as i praise the game at every turn - both Headles and Shichimen warriors are extremely annoying enemies all by themselves and the fact that one requires an extremely rare and expensive item to have a chance against them doesn't help either.
To be fair, this is a problem that's only present in early-to-mid game of 1st playthrough. By the late game you have enough stats to roll over them (but confettig still required) and in consecutive playthroughs you will have quiet a supply of required items.
But still... Not a fan of backtracking an enemy that wasn't meant to be beaten when you first stumble upon him 25% of the game ago.
"It pulls out the Shirikodama, a mythical ball said to contain the soul, which is located inside the anus. And then it shoves it up his"
And then, the Shichimen gotta do the jump and from my experience he often does it when at low health / posture already. Then again, maybe i'm just unlucky.
