Redoing my team -- any great monsters I've overlooked?
Edit: I got advice and redid my team.

This is unlike any "mon" game I've ever played. Since each monster has different team synergies and viable progression paths, I'm feeling swamped now that I've unlocked shifting and the level 30 talent trees. Up until now, I've been able to struggle my way through. A certain keeper battle with an ungodly powerful Ninki Nanka has stopped me for the time being so I want to rethink my team.

I normally prefer glass cannons and versatile attackers in these kinds of games, but those need a lot of support in this game and I'm not sure if I want to pursue that, or how I should pursue it even if I want to.

I have access to all the standard monsters from Mountain Path, Blue Caves, Stronghold Dungeon, Ancient Woods, Snowy Peaks, Sun Palace, Horizon Beach, and Magma Chamber.

My current team is:
Dark Manticorb, Dark Monk, Dark Tengu, Dark Kongamato, Light Spectral Eagle, Light Goblin Warlock.

To the best of my knowledge I have equipped them and skilled them appropriately. The only ones that wow me are Monk's versatility and Tengu's ridiculously high firepower. The Manticorb and Eagle feel like the weakest links -- I'm probably not using them correctly.

Serpent-

Glad you’re having fun and thinking about your team.

My main comment is that your team has a ton of DPS monsters and lacks support, like you said. If you want a good resource, check out these two guides which might help give you some ideas:

And also this one.

Hope you find the answers you seek, and always feel free to put your head together with other players on Discord as well: https://discord.gg/FAwnm9Q

Yeah, I definitely need two support options in the 6 man lineup and I currently only have one. The goblin warlock is an adequate healer with a single target "mega buff" and can apply poison, but I wouldn't mind replacing him.

I don't think *any* of my current choices qualify as tanks. For some reason they haven't caught my eye as a whole and I honestly have no idea what criteria I should be looking for.

Sounds like I need to cut 3/6 of my current lineup, at least?

Of the remaining offensive specialists, Monk has been the most versatile and reliable and I would like to keep him unless there's a similar monster that can buff and hit 4/5 of the elements.

Don't know what you're doing with manticorb but you got to stuff it full of mana regen and then only use your most expensive spells to receive passive shields and buffs if you hit weaknesses.
Light shift is better, it lets your whole team burn mana and is a passive channel that works on top of channel which it also has so you can pretty much stack 0 mana regen on everything else and always be able to use ults and highest level everything anyway.

I swung by discord and got my team figured out for the time being. Thank you.
