Best buff-clearers?
I'm running into more and more enemies who habitually load themselves up on a ridiculous number of buffs, and as such, it's become increasingly clear that it's time to retire my old buff-clearer - a venerable G'rulu. I need something more effective, plain and simple - but at the same time, it needs to be able to do MORE than just clear buffs, same way G'rulu's served as an effective shielder and dealt out handy Armor Breaks with his Acid Rain while clearing up buffs.

Any suggestions? I've looked at my recently-acquired Spinner, as well as hearing good things about Sizzle Knight...

See a list here for a good starting point: https://monster-sanctuary.fandom.com/wiki/Cleanse_(Passive)

I can tell you that people also like Ornithopter / Artiope for this purpose, depending on your team composition: https://monster-sanctuary.fandom.com/wiki/Ornithopter

Interesting, I'd been considering Argiope too actually. Dual Cleanse-passives is kind of a minimum for being better at it than G'rulu, anyway. I don't have an Ornithopter yet - only just started exploring the workshop area - so if I don't want to wait, Argiope may be a good bet.

Any recommendations for how to focus it? Buffs, poison, web-skills? I'd generally be inclined to go for buffs primarily since, at this point, all my monsters have top-tier abilities that they can't afford to use consistently without Channel, and Argiope can stack a ton of channels quite easily. Then webs for offence, which would also be how it got a shot at clearing some buffs obviously. The poison seems tempting, but without a poison-stacking aura of its own, it'd be sharply limited there without suitable synergy from another monster - and that'd be far too limiting for a critter whose primary purpose would be to help deal with buffs.

Probably a good idea to grab Defensive Presence and Combo Buffing regardless, though, for some free-and-easy buffs. Assuming Defensive Presence actually triggers Combo Buffing, anyway, which is a tad unclear!

I'm enjoying the Mad Eye for this as a way to cleanse buffs and apply a large variety of debuffs at the same time, but I guess that's because many of its utility auras synergize well with the way my team plays.

Still haven't progressed enough to consider the Mad Lord.

When it comes to Argiope, it works quite well in a debuff-oriented kind of strategy (especially poison). I personally like using it as Darkshifted to get that great [Overheal] aura for your team and using it in a supportive-type role (your #2 mon) which builds combo / applies debuffs / remove enemy buffs / that sort of thing.

For an example of a team I did recently: Light Toad (healer) / Dark Argiope (support) / Dark Imori (DPS)

Sutsune works pretty well with cleansing fire, sidekick buff removal and buff steal.
If there is a fat, juicy pile of buffs on the enemy team, you can succ up to 5 of those bad boys onto you with cleansing fire and 2 sidekicks.

It also doubles up as a healer and buffer and fits into bleed teams as well.

Vaero also comes with sidekick buff stealing at lv 30, in case you need something that just vomits buffs all over your team and does little else.
