Monster Sanctuary

Current Team
I'm not sure what I'm doing there at the moment, but that's the team I was using for the last two updates, right now I'm looking for the fox, since I believe the enemy won't be there yet.

I kind of believe that was no real update yet, but I'm unsure.

Anyway them monsters are

Nr. 25 That little tree (druid thing) physical, healing + buff

Nr. 69 That candle like Cat thing Debuff (I believe someone said this is a good monster, but for me it often dies first I believe.

Nr. 83spider lich (I don't really know their english names.) Debuff
Nr. 61 Manticor Magic and whatever.
Nr. 72That oven shield ect.
Nr. 79 troll physical

I can say I like some sort of debuff/ shield fighting style recently. I'm just not sure if what I currently have is good enough.
I also took a sudden liking to targoat or how it's named.

If I have to get more specific just tell me, I just hoped I gave you enough information to get some advice or opinions on a good team should I focus on this game a bit more.

I don't play to often and only every update, so I skill more or less fast and probably make faster decisions than I should with my team choice and whatever.

Texus-

To be clear, the most recent news update is a "Preview of full release". We're still a good bit aways from there, so no game update yet, no new monsters.

Note that if you'd like live help, always feel free to join the Discord server here where many experience players would be happy to assist and discuss strategy: https://discord.gg/jQX8bRj

Okay thanks, while I might have encountered two or three other problems that could be solved on Discord so far, if that is the only problem I wouldn't want to creat an account for that.

I have no use for that page, with Discord I'm not even sure exactly what the functions are. Just like twitter.

Thank you for the answer on that at least.

Ah, I getcha then, if no Discord, then of course, Steam forums are fine.

My advice would be to start focusing on a "team of 3" instead of mentioning all 6. Crafting a team of 3, as in, the ones you actually field in battle, will be a good start to "making something strong".

With those 6 that you mentioned, which 3 do you typically use?

I guess I will take a look at Discord one of these days, maybe ask around if anyone I know uses that too so I have another reason for that side.

Well I usually always have the oven in my team. Okay I have to say it based on what I used today and what I remember.

That would be
Nr. 72 The oven (shield / magic)
Nr. 83 That Spider thing many debuffs (I hate/like it)
Nr. 61 Manticor (attack buff/ magic damage) I think that's more or less the tactic I use for early access.

In boss fights or duels I end up using the druid tree and something for shields like my oven.
I can't tell if I "need" a healer if I have strong defence and stuff, but I already know that thing is good.

I always change a few monsters every update, but I decited on a nice mix the last time and thought it could be worse when I got tired of thinking about my team.
I just started to dislike the candle dragon which I called cat.

Yeah, I feel ya, I "change things up" myself a lot as there's always some different combo I want to try out.

As a good starting point:

In Monster Sanctuary, things are pretty flexible since all of the monsters are good and worth using. What’s important is team composition. There are of course multiple ways to build a team, but the most basic formula is making sure to have Tank / Support / Healer / DPS between your three monsters.

As a classic early game example of this:

Yowie (tank / healer)

Vaero (support)

Catzerker (DPS)

The answer lies really in which monsters YOU want to use, as long as you’re building a balanced team.

Another classic example could be:

Magmapillar (shield-tank support)

Blob (support healer)

Monk (DPS)

So yeah, just learn to look at monsters and what they do so you can identify which roles they can fulfill. Since monsters have talent trees, usually they can be built in a variety of ways.

So, since you said you tend to use Polterofen / Arachlich / Manticorb, yeah, I see that you're focusing on a debuff-oriented strategy. I would still generally advise having a healer of some sort (for example, Arachlich can be a great support / healer). The one you mentioned, Druid Oak, is one of my favorite healers as it's tanky, and has great buff and debuff support.

If you want a good measure of how you're doing, the score screen will definitely help with that. If your healthiness score suffers, making sure to have the proper healz / protection will be good. If your time is lacking, make sure you have enough offense. If your Execution score is low, make sure you're utilizing the combo system properly and having your strongest mon go last, etc.

So, my advice? Whenever you play next, just see "how effective my team is", and see what areas you might be lacking in, and that will lead you to "so this is what I should change". Of course, should you have more "specific" questions, I'm happy to chat.

Hhhmm just tried a fight in the maschine tower area with :

Druid Oak, Arachlich and Polterofen

3 rounds
health 91 %
Execution 79 %

I feel like that might really help with seeing how effective I can be. For an easier time I might really just restart the game once it's finished and most of the balancing is done.

I use Duid Oak sometimes especially in important fights, but it often ends with the fight feeling slow because I don't do enough damage.

I think I will try more tomorrow, I need a break right now, can't concentrate on it as much as I would like to right now.

The game is more fun to me now then when I first started it, however I should have played it when it was finished, this way I always need some time trying to remember what I planned with my team and everything.

If I have a more precise /specific question I will make another comment here.

Do you know what max level you want to have for the full release? That's also something that could help me with planning a bit.

One thing, I hope you keep that fox monster. Not sure if I will like it, but the first few comments on that today gave me the feeling it might be one of "those" comment treads again.
I liked the spear weilding salamander and I believe that one could be also my taste.

Now before I really end the night I remembered one thing I would like to ask.

Do you plan to add some sort of map markers?
You know, for us to remember where shops where, or where we saw a wall that we wanted to break and forgot that monster?

I would like to make a different Arachlich the next time instead of reskilling my current one. However I don't know if I was able to get those shifting items in the base already.

Best way to get a different shift of Arachlich is to find a wild-shifted one and get its egg. Shift stones aren't able to be purchased from vendors infinitely, but can be obtained from Reward Box Level 2 and 3.

Hi, I searched for somewhere to ask what you guys would to with quilin, that unicorn.

I just managed to get the eggs from the champions till that point.

Oh and I know you posted me a few links but I'm always somewhat hoping for a quick answer^^ I wanted to know if these are found in a certain treasure box, the shift stones or whatever. I want to make the champions into light or dark creatures.
