More Unique Weapons/Trinkets
Could more unique weapons/trinkets be implemented over the course of the game? I say this because I've come to rely on the Katana for my crithax Wolf build and would be curious to see more weapons that provide unique stat spreads or buffs implemented. Trinkets that provide buffs would also be very welcome. Also, will plus 4 weapons/trinkets be craftable eventually?

Johgaines-

From my understanding, I think the plan is for weapons to go up to +5, but I am not 100% sure on that. But yes, crafting will of course be “upgraded” later on for higher tiers to account for that at the proper time. It’s in early access so things will be added.

Yes, as you’ve likely seen, more “interesting items” like the Fishing Rod, Pirate Hook and Moon Sword weapons were added with the recent Beach update, and I anticipate more as time goes on.

Moon Sword seems like a bridge between "regular" weapons and some sort of endgame sword that's really brutal. I'm looking forward to seeing future equipment if Moon Sword vs the "boring" weapons is anything to go by.

Has "Moon Sword" a hidden effect or something? Otherwise i wouldn't say that it is a bridge between the types but just a plain Highdmg Sword with no effects.

I'm thinking there's some kind of endgame weapon with massive stats but not effects, and Moon Sword is what you get before you get to that sword.

Given the way the game’s weapons are designed—that wouldn’t make any sense. All weapons are created to be “good in some fashion”, and not to be “directly outclassed” like you’re guessing. Moon Sword does pure attack and magic—so no other weapon will do “just attack and magic”. Perhaps a “just attack / just magic” could pop up at some time, but Moon Sword can be upgraded like anything else—don’t expect “The same stats as Moon Sword just better”—that would just be Moon Sword +5 or whatever.

Oh, so Moon Sword is actually viable the entire game? Wow, that's pretty cool, although it makes me wonder even more what sort of weapons we'd find later on.

Theoretically, all weapons "should" be like that (design-wise, that is). Of course, as is the nature of life, some weapons will rise to higher and lower prominence in the playerbase. By design, however, weapons aren't made to be "so this will get outclassed by a weapon which does the same exact thing just with more stats".

Indeed -- it will be fun to see what's in store.

As an added note (just cause it's nice to hear things in the dev's own words) check this out:

Sersch: Yes Moon Sword is supposed to be useful for hybrids that are either non crit or have low base attack/magic

Sounds like a good weapon for Tengu and other things that utilize both a high ATT/MAG split to boost both stats.

Moon Sword is gonna be niche for sure. Hybrid damage, no crit synergy, no need for mana regen...
