Game Start Problem the game will not run

I had difficulty and frustration playing Tomb Raider Legend, even on easy level, The problems I experienced were things such as working out where to specifically place weights on pressure plates in order to later help me climb a cliff face. Would it be any easier playing Underworld, or would I likely be having the same type of frustration and difficulty? Thanks....

What's going on, from 165 to 10fps

I've tried everything I have been able to find, and for the life of me I cannot get this game to start. I do not have any issues with Legend or Anniversary at all, they both start and run just fine. I've seen things like run in Windows 7 compatibility, change core affinity, etc. None of that works for me. I even tried uninstalling it from Steam and installing the original disc version (Yes, I have that), and the game still will not run. It just ceases to launch right after setup.
