You know what's weird? I never even heard of this prior to searching it. I am not at all associated with any of them, but I happen to be working on an ambitious unit upgrade mod that is kinda similar to this (just without custom unit models, I can't do that work, they have to exist)
Currently using Imperial Age. I have thought about a new Age, but it's an unexplored territory for me. If it's finished, maybe.

I can imagine the reason it was never ported is because of the graphics change, tech tree and age stuff.
You cannot have a real fifth Age. You can only pretend to. It's basically a technology that others are locked behind. There are lots of things hardcoded that you cannot change for a new "Age", (age up string, sound, age icons in tech tree, age icons on UI, age of top of screen, age selection in scenario, etc). So I'll pass in that department.
Anyway, perhaps check out Multiple Buffs Mod. It has custom content too, it's just.. sadly outdated. And my mod, but it's not out.. taking too long solo. I might take ideas from MBM, though. Not steal them, of course.
