Invisible lobby

when you host a lobby, it is not visible to other players. It makes it very difficult to run multiplayer games. happens to many people. please look into the issue.

When you rehost few times, sometimes lobby becomes visible and players join, however if someone leaves, no one will ever join back as if lobby's time ran out.

This is lasting bug for a long time now.

AOE2.net enables join and see all lobbies, game can't do it. Problem is no everyone is using https://aoe2.net/

yes the invisible lobby issue has been a problem with this game since launch. i hope one day they actually get this working.

Seems like game can't handle / to work with more lobbies at the same time. Tho it's weird because external website like aoe2.net can handle it.

I think this is some kind of Technical limitation which is pretty annoying. I hope they recode this whole mess at some point.

Also when (with a bit of luck) lobby works and people join it, let's say it's 8/8 then someone leaves no one will ever join again as if lobby does not exist anymore.

I can't join any online game

Well, It used to work fine but somehow the game can't join any online game anymore. The game stucks when it tries to enter my friend's lobby just after I enter te lobby password for example. I can't see anyone's lobby as well and I can't create matches anymore.

Does anyone happen to be facing the same problem? Can anyone help me?

Hello friends! A few questions:

• Do you have a screenshot of any error messages you see?
  
• Are you able to join any other lobbies that don't belong to a friend?
  
• Are you signed in or signed out of Xbox Live, and does changing that change the results when trying to connect to a game?

Hello Aleph!

Well, I can't join any lobby at all (friends or random players).
The thing is; I can't see any match available for joining in. When I got a frien's request for me to join his/her lobby, the "Joining lobby" screen lingers and never change. I stood about 15 min waiting to join a session but i couldn't do it.

I am singned in of Xbox live, my strange xbox nick is always showing. I dont even know how to log out to try it!! hahahahaha

Theres no error message at all... What we have here is a case of "nothing happens"

If you guys can help me, please do it!! hahahaah

I had the same problem too. I signed out of Xbox Live, and then it works again. But I can't sign in Xbox Live anymore.

I have the exact same problem I can play ranked still but when I play I cant see anyone names and can't type in chat.

Lobby empty / can´t see player names

Since a couple days...
- i cant find any gamerooms in the lobby,
- i cant create my own room --> only works if i leave gamename empty ""
- i cant see player names and what is written by me or other ppl in the chat in the gameroom, when i have hosted a game (taunts are working)
- i cant see player names ingame and what they are writing ingame LINK [www.youscreen.de]
- i cant see player names/civs and Gamesettings during loading screen

I tried to fix it via
+ Steam-Game-Check --> was succesfully but above named problems still there, 3x
+ Re-installed game 2x --> also deleted data/files in in the folder and did steam-game-check afterwards --> was succesfully but above named problems are still there

Any ideas?????

Dunno if there was a patch or something else, since i dont play every day...

Sadly issue is still going on.

I hosted a team game with a friend, I am from Europe, he's from Canada. We played one (I had to rehost like 4x to make lobby working).

Then we tried to host another one but no matter what we did, restarting game, restarting steam it never worked again.

I hosted a game and none ever joined the lobby.
Friend tried to host a lobby too and none joined on him as well.

We both tried to rehost x times, lobby was invisible for players. not appearing in lobby browser so none ever joined us. Does not matter if I hosted from EU, or he did from Canada - same result for us both.

We gave up after 20 minutes, amount of players based on steam 30k online. So not enough players is not the issue. Lobbies are very broken at the moment.
