CANNOT install game
Every time I try to install AOE2:DE it gives me the 'DISK WRITE ERROR' message. I then delete the files of where it states the errors are, but nothing seems to work. Even when it does finish the installation (8,3gb), it somehow vanishes and it starts from the beginning.

This has so far occurred on two devices, of which one is a desktop running on Windows 7 Home Premium, and the other a laptop running on Windows 10.

On both devices I have AOE2:HD installed.

Please help me out, I'm clueless!

I have the same error and i have 128GB disk space free

Perhaps one of the suggestions on this page can solve it. Try all of them.

Alright i fixed the problem by looking in in the Content_log (located @ \Steam\logs). Scroll down to the bottom see whats nog downloading. For me it was XXXX So i went to the download map: \Steam\steamapps\downloading and copied the TC Manual.pdf into the folder it was missing. Afterwards i continued the download and it's downloaded! Thanks @kimmaz for the suggestion

Could you be more specific Sniels? I don't quite get what you did that could solve the problem. My problem also lays in the (@ \Steam\Docs) files.

Alright you can follow it on the link Kimmaz posted.And go from this step: Delete Corrupted Files in Log.

Here is step by step what i did:
- Opened Content_log (located at Drive\Steam\logs
- Looked at what file it wasn't downloading (for me it was TC Manual.pdf in the _root of the download folder).
- Copied that file from the EN folder towards into the root
- Resumed download

If that isn't clear sent me a steam invite ill take it step by step with u
