Black Screen issue
Hello,

After random amount of time played I have black screen for couple of seconds (3-5). After this, monitor starts to show black backgroung, mouse coursor is visible and I can move it, I can hear game sounds but there is no image (only black colour). I can easily go to desktop or any other application (PC works) and windows are displayed over black screen. So the issue is only with game.

My Graphics card: Radeon RX 5700 XT Nitro+
My screen: Iiyama GB2760QSU

Please help as I cannot play!

Guys, and everyone facing similar issue:

I tried to run game in window mode + enabled VSync. I have played for 30-40 minutes and I haven't got any problem now. I am not sure if this helps permanently or which setting actually made it better (VSync or window mode). Please try it yourself and let know here what are the results.

Black Screen during gaming every time...
Win10 64 +i7 4790+ rx 5700xt.
I got random black screen during my play time. The game is still running, but just black screen. Anyone can help？ Thanks.

Following. I have that issue, too. Black screen or crashing completely.

Try windows key + ctrl + shift + b

Ok, doesn't work... Screen remains black, however coursor gets refreshed. :/

Same issue here. All of suggested doesn't work. Any other suggestions? (I have the last graphic card drivers installed)

I have this same issue. The game works, but there are intermittent fade to black screen for a few seconds, then comes back. The game is still running when this happens. I have dual monitors. The one I play AOE: DE on is 4k, the other 1080p. I have a 4090 with latest drivers. I run the game in 4K. This did not used to happen.

The stated solutions don't work for me. VSync/No Vsync. Windowed Mode is just unplayable. I tried the Enhanced Graphics (UHD) free download from Steam, but had the same lack of wide view others complained of, and I disabled it.

The problem is either a bug or some setting somewhere. I see people having this issue for years, but no obvious solution.
