Resolved: I cannot chose bodybuard with Gates of the Gods mission

This is only my first mission on Chronicles Battle For Greece and I have already ran into my first bug. When I send my hero unit to one of the bodyguard units nothing happens. (Edit) I did not really know what I was doing, but I figured it out now and it is not a bug. There are purple flags that specifically show who the bodyguards are. When I sent my commander to one of the bodyguard units they switch sides.
