Freeze Error Logging Into Xbox Live -- SteamDeck

Hi, so the game worked and played fine until last night when trying to log into xbox live through the AOE2 start screen. pop up says to log in ok, click sign in and then white box of doom appears. Even after force quit, restart and shutdown the device, the game now just loads this white box each time I try start it..

Hi,

here is the 2 screen shots. So on loading up the game, it shows the initial logo with sparks flying around for a second, then it replaces that with this white box log in screen (minus the ability to log in) the first few times it was actually loading the Xbox Sign in screen still, where I had to click sign in to move it along, to the white screen.

I logged onto my desktop steam and began AOE2: DE and signed in on there and so im not sure if thats caused an issue now where the steam one is trying to ask to sign in, but it is already signed in (from a different device albeit)

Either way, I cannot get past it! I can right click, but none of the selections in there work, i.e refresh, reload, back etc.

(despite Steam saying AOE2: DE is uncertain to work, before this bug I found it played Very well actually, was able to keymap nicely to what I needed and it functioned as should for at least 2.5 hours)

It's on Steam Deck 512GB v3.3.1 stable, "SteamOS Holo"

UPDATE: I have just logged into the Desktop Steam, started AOE2:DE and signed out of Xbox live on there, Exited the game.
Then Started the AOE2:DE on Steam Deck and it allowed me to load the game as normal (signed out of Xbox live)

Let me reiterate my steps from the beginning:

1. Tried to sign in to Xbox Live through AOE2:DE on steamDeck
2. Xbox live window popup opened, asked me to sign in,
3. clicked sign in, first time it did actually load Windows log in screen which after entering credentials loaded a white screen.
4. couldn't exit the white screen, had to Exit game via either force quit or Steam btn and Exit Game.
5. on restarting game, would only load White screen after the AOE2:DE title screen (no intro vids)
6. Tried restarting device/turning it off for a period of time and then trying to load game again, no improvement.
7. Logged onto Steam via Desktop, loaded AOE2:DE and signed into Xbox Live on there, worked as should. (needed to for Penguin event)
8. tried again on steam deck, no luck.
9. This morning, I had a thought to log out of Xbox Live on Desktop to see if it would re-jig something trying to load on the steamDeck. It worked! I was able to get onto the Game title screen on the steamDeck once logged out on desktop.
10. Signed back into Xbox Live on desktop and then re-tried the game on steamDeck and the white screen re-appears.

So although I tried to log in to Xbox Live via the Steam Deck the first time - I am able to bypass the bug by logging In and then Out of Xbox Live on AOE2:DE via Desktop Steam.

Thank you for your detailed explanation. Steam Deck is not officially supported by us. To avoid errors like these I recommend you to play AoE2 DE on the supported platforms. Ive ran into the same error on a non steam deck device. Whenever I try to login to xbox live it freezes

Thank you for your comment. Could you please provide details on your setup? What are your CPU, GPU, RAM and operating system specs?

This is happening for me as well I have to disconnect my Steam Deck from WiFi I'm simply losing my mind right now please I beg you to fix this - - isn't Microsoft so into accesibility options? 'cause this isn' t accesible at all

Happens to me on Steam deck in both DE and HD the latter of which is supported supposedly.
