Finehair bug ?
i noticed in that scenario theres a merchant in the lower corner next to denmark but its seem theres no interaction with him , is it a bug ? cause since he got a siege workshop i tought this would be a way to get siege weapons to attack Hordaland

In the original custom game, this was a slave trader and that was how your could purchase additional workers (with costs increasing by 200GP). I presume this was removed from the official games for reasons.

you buy slaves in this workshop for gold
in time the price per slave raises

so you should go on gold early
and buy as many slaves as possible early

It is not a bug. Have you played the original free campaign mod? The villagers were too expensive and could not originally have more than two villagers, except for buying with gold contrary to right now with dlc. The population cap limit was worse on the campaign mod as well at only 75 instead of 50 which is what it is based on right now. It is however worth mentioning that hard difficulty on this dlc does not really seem hard. Just takes hours to win, but took me a little over 3 hours to win on the dlc version vs. a little over 4 hours to win on the campaign mod version.

started the Mission

1. go with the 2 start Villagers to the 2 Gold Piles
2. collect the 2 Monks and kill the Wolf to get Gold for its Skin
3. buy 9 Slaves for 200 Gold each - bringing them to help mine the Gold

where you need 1 Slave to sacrifice for Red

so you have 10 Villagers before the Price gets over 200 Gold
making the Rest of the Mission a Piece of Cake

finishing the Mission

you do not need any Siege Unit

also this Page seems to be poorly made:

https://ageofempires.fandom.com/wiki/Finehair

following an easy strategy

- without Losses or even Repairs
- defeating the whole Map

4. Explore Red
5. Destroy Purple and then Green
6. Sneak to Vallhalla
7. Destroy Orange
8. Destroy Cyan - from Land and with Ships
9. Destroy Gray
10. Tower Siege and Destroy Yellow

Completely destroying purple and especially orange and gray are optional. I ignore orange mostly and do not get involved that much in going on the offense against gray. Even on hard difficulty the AI's biggest weakness is them just sitting there waiting for you to attack them first from both the free mod version and the dlc version. Maybe in the future (but probably not near future) I might go after them to see what happens if I follow any of those optional objectives, but the main objectives are only for defeating cyan, yellow, and green. It is designed similar to Komnenos with additional side quests that are optional and can be ignored.

yeah - they do not really defend nor produce units
you can just lure them out with the Start Units

Orange is especially weak and not defended
giving you a lot of gold for technology early on

Grey, Yellow, ... - you can easily take out everything
with the 3 Monks, 10 Elite Berserkers and 10 Longboats
