Victors and Vanquished mistakes
So I tested all 28 recently (campaign mods and dlc) at least from the beginning (but not yet to the very end with all 28), but unfortunately while I was expecting this dlc to be good I did unfortunately notice a few common problems. I decided to wait it out before I am going to I give any official review to this new dlc on Steam, but if any debate is going to be involved I would expect it to be "constructive" as well.

Number 1, the most noticeable mistake made with this dlc has to do with the fact that only 5 out of 14 (Komnenos, Valhalla's Edge which was renamed for dlc, The Rise of Genghis Kahn which was renamed for dlc, Seljuk, and Vandals Sack of Rome which was renamed for dlc) of them did not have both voice acting and sword difficulty to begin with and in addition to that campaign mods with voice acting was definitely better with more variety as well than the dlc version where it was mostly (but not entirely) just only one voice actor throughout and especially when it comes narrating.

Number 2, at least with the Temujin historical battle (dlc) you literally have to waste time destroying everything or else the AI will not resign and under the impression the same problem is expected from other custom scenarios (but are known as historical battles on dlc or free campaign mods) as well where the AI should resign earlier but they will not even after every military unit and villager is dead and military building (barracks, stable, monastery, siege workshop, castle, and etc...) is destroyed.

Number 3, while I have not played the full games yet for all 28 of them I have noticed many of the people giving negative reviews with other reported issues as well relating to this dlc that possibly might be related to the "dlc" instead of the "recent update" such as bugs that could be from dlc instead of from update combined with very little if anything when it comes to the differences with dlc in comparison to the original free mods as well; although, the most noticeable differences at least from the start for me are with Constantine XI (name change, three sword difficulty added, different voice acting especially with narrator, and a lot less food and gold than the original), Shimazu (sword difficulty switched from three sword to two sword but unclear as to why and voice acting is a lot different that does not sound like a Japanese accent with the dlc version), Vortigern (sword difficulty switched from three sword to two sword but unclear as to why and voice acting is different), and Finehair (not much difference except for starting video being longer than originally from campaign mod, different voice acting that does not sound like Scandinavian contrary to the free mod version, and added one sword difficulty).

Number 4, I am under the overall impression despite me not playing all 28 yet until the very end that I do not believe enough differences were made to necessarily make this dlc more fun, exciting, and overall better than it was from previously as the free campaign mods. Meaning this dlc did not add enough content that is actually new besides the 5 new historical battles.

Number 5, some of these historical battles might take too long to win just like the campaign modded versions that are free. The most obvious examples include Finehair (took me four hours to win on the campaign mod version and will probably take at least two or three hours for me to win even on the dlc version even with me being familiar with the map now) in addition to apparently Ironside, Karlsefni (Vahalla's Edge), Ragnar (Ragnar's Saga and not to be confused with Ragnar's Raids despite Ragnar's Raids having more downloads than Ragnar's Saga), Stephan, Charlemagne (which contrary to the others on this list is supposed to be actually new but some people are disappointed with it because of how long and tedious it is to play), and possibly others as well.

1. Mistake? They just renamed them to fit with the theme of the scenarios being named after people with 1 word.

2. Everything? Just the major buildings and military units.

3. Yes, most people negatively reviewing the DLC have not bothered to play through it.

4. The refined modded content is new content.

5. There are a few longer and more tedious RPG focused scenarios. That is not all of them and they are fine to play through. People should not try and play through them all in one sitting.
