Im at 1000 elo teamgames and in the last 10 games I've had 1 dude wall in a teammate in, 1 dude afk and 3 dudes resign early while spamming the chat with insults because they have no clue what they're doing and blaming others.
Pretty sick of it i'll stick to 1 v 1
Dutch player Orb, has 1000 team Elo, facing and getting teamed up with players from 500 - 1200 solo Elo. Clearly, 500 and 1200 solo Elo is universes apart, which creates a bit of "friction" in a wannabe competitive setting.
Lessons: a) team Elo stinks b) playing with randoms stinks
Offtopic: at 1400 team Elo I face players from 1000-2000 Elo, similar skill gap but hardly any flaming as the guys know and understand more AND I NEVER have randoms on my team.
I barely talk in game. I'm playing with people who don't even know how to lure boars and end up with 60 villagers after 40 minutes and then their teammates flame because they died to 10 scouts. It's honestly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane it seems like the average age in this elo bracket is around 12.
I've reported 5 people so far and already gotten 3 ban confirmations, so quit your stupid assumptions.
It's mostly the people who simply do not understand this game which flame. I'll try to get out of the 1000's asap.
I do not think that playing against random players matter as much for 1v1 as opposed to team games. I prefer team games instead of 1v1 or something like 1v2 or 2v4 on single player skirmishes (but only on hard or moderate difficulty because I sometimes struggle on hardest difficulty even on an evenly matched team games at least if the starting age is Dark or Feudal instead of Castle), but it probably be the opposite for me if I were to play on multiplayer.
Well, you guessed wrong. Again.
They start griefing out of nowhere, one guy was bottom score, got attacked by 4 longswords in Castle Age on Arena and then started flaming me because he built 3 outside of his walls and lost 10 villagers.
I've never had any flaming in 1 v 1 or custom 'noob' games myself, it seems retardation seems to hit when entering ranked.
It's amusing to see people ask me to report someone just because they didn't play well.
While that might be true for toxic players on Empire Wars I think that Burgundians are the only civ that truly benefits the most out of Empire Wars because of the starting age being Feudal Age instead of Dark Age besides maybe the Vikings (free wheelbarrow) and Hindustanis (slightly cheaper villagers during Feudal Age than Dark Age). This means at the start of game Burgundians already have their Feudal Age eco techs researched in addition to loom if I am not mistaken. This would also mean they can more easily reach Castle Age than during their normal gameplay with Dark Age; although, it might still be a good idea to get bow saw/gold shaft mining before reaching Castle Age.
Only get stone shaft mining as Burgundians if wanting to build a castle during early Castle Age, but this strategy is probably easier to exploit on single player as opposed to multiplayer empire wars. Such as for example build a castle immediately upon starting Castle Age on single player for sniping an enemy AI's base and at the same time make a small army (Flemish militia despite being slow units?) to defend the sniping attempt for early Castle Age, but this strategy I think might be harder on multiplayer even for low elo. At least in part because building a military early and a castle early also means taking a longer time to build up the economy which I am not sure if that is practical or not on multiplayer team games. My point is that stone walls are overall more expensive than using wood for walling and making stone walls also means it will take a longer time to get enough stone to build a castle early.
