Can I Play Co-op Without Buying DLCs?

Can I play online (including co-op) in Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition without owning any DLCs or bundles? I just want to buy the base game — will that be enough to play multiplayer with friends(or solo mmr), or do I need to buy the Ultimate Bundle or any expansions?

no you don't have too, mutiplayer is in the base game.

There are some Co-op campaigns included in the base game
I could be wrong but I don't think there are Co-op campaigns included in any DLC

Yes you can play online with just the base game, the dlcs are for more civs/single player content.
