You are correct. Also, there is not really anything interesting about the original AoE II in comparison to DE besides the voice actors in the campaigns, starting video that involves a chess game, Franks used to be more op as a civ with Age of Kings before Age of Conquerors expansion pack came out because Age of Kings did not originally have halberdiers and bloodlines, and rotting corpses.

Age of Kings + Conquerors are commonly refered to as "CD Version".

To be fair and from experience, it's difficult to communicate sarcasm through the web.

One of the things I like about the CD versions of the game was. Bombard towers were stupidly strong. To the point where it made a person work for their bread. Get a map like crater lake. Back yourself into a corner, take all the stone, and put up bombard towers and nobody is coming for you. Doesn't matter what they threw at it. 5 hours of R&R trolling :P

When were bombard towers nerfed? If bombard towers were not nerfed then I do not know what the difference is between CD bombard towers and DE bombard towers.

When were bombard towers nerfed? If bombard towers were not nerfed then I do not know what the difference is between CD bombard towers and DE bombard towers.

Originally bombard towers did melee damage. So they could easily destroy rams. Meant there were only two counters, trebuchets and bombards. Not everyone got the latter.

It was changed around 9 months after Conquerors expansion was launched.
