That's a pretty broad question, what level AI are you fighting against and where do you think you're falling short?

1. learning build order for a specific civ. (at least openings)
2. practice against AI
3. watching own replays of your games identifying what went wrong
4. fix your mistakes
5. repeat 1-4

6. play against or with other human players

steam guide section is full of build order or you just search, like any other human being on the planet, the internet

This is a pretty general question.
Here's a pretty general answer.

1. Practice:
-Use hotkeys and keep at it until you don't have to think about what keys you need to press. (I made custom hotkeys to help myself remember)
-Use control groups to switch between multiple points of view frequently. (scout/TC etc.)
-Learn a few different basic build orders for common opening strategies.
-Play games, spam your hotkeys, get lots of repetitions.

2. Focus:
-When you are trying to improve at something, spend most of your attention on it. If you want to improve at/learn something complicated, you shouldn't try to do everything at once.
-If you're having trouble with something, make note of it.
-Know your goal for the game before you start. (ex. I will NOT get housed this game)

3. Be resilient:
-Your goal isn't to win every game. Your goal is to get better so you can compete in harder games in the future.
-Most of the time progress doesn't happen immediately. Don't be discouraged. If you put in the time and effort in a focused manner, you will improve.
-It's a game and the only pressure you feel is coming from you.

I hope this was helpful in some way. Have fun out there!

What I struggle the most is build order, I just create whatever, i dont follow a specific order. I cant memorize such thing, because every game is different, so i cant rely only on build order.

Well, BOs are a good starting point. I recommend downloading the "Interactive Build Order Guide" from the mod browser and giving the 1st mission on 22pop scouts some tries.

You can get by without strictly following a build order. Think of dark age as more of a to-do list.

-Build some houses right at the start(like 2 or 3) and make sure you always have housing space.
-Have 6-8 villagers dedicated to harvesting animals like sheep and boar(Do one sheep/boar are a time).
-Make a lumber camp and wood cutters.
-Get a mill on your berries and move your food villagers onto berries when they're done with the sheep/boars.

At around 20 villagers, you should be able to go up into Feudal Age. Make sure your Town Center has as little down time as possible. Ignore Gold/Stone/Military until you get to Feudal.

From there, its just a matter of having the resources for what you want to do. Don't get into the mindset of waiting for resources. If you ever think "I wish I had more food", you make villagers and put them on food. Ceasing production of villagers is what gets a lot of new players killed

I'm going to agree that build orders will help you out a lot. It's hard to get an army going without a strong economy and a solid plan. You can find stuff here on Steam, or all over the internet. Try googling: Fast Castle build order. I find this website helpful: https://aoecompanion.com/build-guides Hang in there! This is a great game. You will get better.
