AOE2 new DLC and Civs confirmed: Armenians and Georgians
With recent "image leak" of AOE2 DLC The Mountain Royals in Microsoft store, there will be three campaigns with two new civs: Armenians and Georgians.

Thoughts about the new civs, predictions on their bonuses and UUs? Let kinda throw bug infestation risk out of the bus, because that negative thing always a thing to be expected, which is suck.

Edit: Here is the link I used for references. https://forums.ageofempires.com/t/new-dlc-leaked-the-mountain-royals/240990

Another Edit: For the pricing, I fully suggest this thread: https://steamcommunity.com/app/813780/discussions/0/5943120984243319090/

^Oh I know.

I used to mainly play with the AI for years. They're usually just as fun as with other people.

As a person that does not play the campaigns, the value is very low for $15 :steamsad:

People like you are actually in the minority. Most players will play at least the campaigns on AoE II: DE if not the skirmishes/map editor as well in addition to at least some of these people also playing multiplayer as well at the same time as single player. I am the opposite of this, because I avoid multiplayer, but currently only play on single player. Also, the AI may not necessarily be as dumb as some people might think and especially for beginners where at least some strategy is needed when playing against the AI and not only just for multiplayer.

The campaign related achievements are among the least unlocked achievements in AoE 2 DE, so I actually think the vast majority plays either Single Player skirmish or MP games with friends/randoms vs AI.

As for Agent - that's 7.50 $ per civ but considering you've got endless replayability, that's still a reasonable price.

Should've been 10, same as the first DLCs.

Greed and inflation can be real female dogs at times.

Also I don't like how they put "The" in the beginning of the name "The Mountain Royals", none of the other DLCs have "The". I know I'm nitpicking but this one just feels off, I'm probably getting this when it's 75% off.
Well, damn, OP was right with the leaks about Armenians and Georgians.

Personally, I'm VERY happy as those two are real medieval powerhouses and I waited for a long time.

Now if only we would get Tibetans and more Mesoamerican civs...

The vast majority of 2's addons starts with "The":
- The Conquerors
- The Forgotten
- The African Kingdoms
- The Last Khans (Included for free in DE)
- The Mountain Royals

Considering the majority of SP oriented gamers tend to not care for achievements, i am not sure thats a good take from that statistic.
Most of the achievement are fot completion of the campaigns.
I have 2 or 3 completed in a few different campaigns in at a given time. So it might not tell a whole story.

Look, I was already super furious just knowing that the civs are Georgians and Armenians, one of them could very well represent the other without problems, they spent a civ slot, which could very well be the Swiss or Tibetans that fit well in the mountains theme.

But to crown the grotesque mistake they still put the DLC costing in Brazil twice the price of the last two DLCs of two civs + 3 campaigns. I really want to believe that this is some kind of mistake. How in good conscience can a DLC cost more than the base game?

Prices in Brazil:

Base Game: 36,99
Soundtrack: 20,69
Lords of the West: 29,99
Dawn of the Dukes: 19,00
Dynasties of India: 19,00
Return of Rome: 27,00
The Mountain Royals: 54.95 without discount, 46.71 with the 15% discount.

I really hope that this is some kind of mistake and that it will be fixed urgently. At this price it is difficult to buy this DLC or any other future DLC.

Even with civs that I don't like, usually I would have bought the DLC at this point. But at this price it's impossible. Not that I can't dispose of that amount, I can, but it's immoral, unrealistic, illogical for a DLC to just double in price like that, out of nowhere.

However, recently another game I've posted the following news:
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/230190/view/6789795183864415533?l=english
Related to the new pricing, I did some "research" and find out another thing that worth "keeping it in other thread". It's still alright to discuss pricing here, but I do believe the other place would fit well to debate.

About the new content, seem like we have some kinds of new buildings:
- The Mule Cart.
- Fortified Church that is just Monastery having a night with TC.
- Some notable Unique researches.
- Caravanserai is no longer unique.

Awesome! Sounds exciting, at least its still getting updates when IV is out.

Let’s be real though… $15 it sure as heck better be discounted for a week, or two.

Over 5 bucks for 2 civs is rather mediocre. Let’s hope they make this worth our while.

Armenians and Georgians are okay additions. Still disappointing though that it's going to be civ 7 and 8 using Mediterranean architecture it seems. At least we're going to get new Monastery models it seems.

I hope that the next expansion pack is going to feature Africa or America though. Been almost a decade for both regions since we got anything new there.
I think those would be great.

Just wait until you play literally any other game and have to pay 20 bucks for a single character reskin or 50 dollars for a single vehicle.

I am not certain about this, but the mule cart I think might be unique to just the Georgians and Armenians meaning that not every civilization is going to get them. I also knew about the Caravansrai, but since I did not really know as to how much helpful it is I never built it. For players who do not trade from the market, apparently its only other purpose is healing units similar to what the monk and various other buildings do when garrisoning.

Tank games made by Russian developers.
More i muse on it, the more annoying i fund the new economic models (mule carts, gujaras mills ect) they drop in but only for the new civs.

Id much prefer the new civ/s get bonuses for these modified mechanics and some/all of the other civs can access them where applicable.
