Game not working while steam is in offline mode

Hi everyone, as of the recent update the game was not able to launch while in offline mode, anyone know a fix for this? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Offline game play

Age of empires II is not starting if my Laptop is not connected to internet. anyone else having similar issue?
I mostly play campaigns and against AI so i dont really need to connect to internet.
It was working fine before latest update but now i cant start the game if i am disconnected from internet.
