In your opinion. Unless you bring facts. I disagree.
I suspect any kind of DLC will not happen until later this year if they do release one. With Age of Mythology Retold being released in a couple of months time. Studio is probably all hands on deck for making sure that comes out in a good state. Pretty sure Forgotten Empires that works on AoE series, is a smaller team. Also from a business sense you don't want to eat into sales of one product with another similar product releasing close together.
PS: By comparison, AoE4 had over 9k players, little more than half AoE2DE has, on the same day.
How about AoE3:DE ?
It is like Starcraft was not really competing with AoE2 either, since they were both very different games, with different settings and gameplay, despite being in teh same genre.
It might be an unpopular opinion, but I personally like AoE III: DE more than AoE IV. The same cannot also be said however for AoE: DE being better than AoE IV despite the fact that both games are based on different time periods where AoE IV is similar to AoE II: DE in some ways (but with some obvious differences as well because of Relic Entertainment being involved in making AoE IV) because of an overlapping time period.
I love AoEIII, not so much the DE version since it's a memory hog compared to the original. The card system and age up options are fun. I don't like the extra population for units.
