I'm curious where weSports will go as they signed Liereyy and Heartt.
does Lierey go full time again?
Nili and Jordan both quit full time streaming which is why eventually left GL. Luckily, Nili is back in the Age scene as the new tournament coordinator for Microsoft.
And yeah, TG tournaments unless it's Nations Cup will be a lot more predictable these days as Hera is just too strong
Yep, that's part of his contract with weSports. He also has to stream a certain amount of hours per month
Good news ! :)
The viper is lot of fun to watch but he's playing too many weird strategies
Hera's game-play gives me a headache when i watch it on his channel. Way too fast for me. Would rather watch his games on cast of empires or someone else
I disagree with his horse collar view :D Some civs need to get horse collar for a nice boost
GL specifically looks not only for players, but content creators. That's why they got Hera, because he streames a lot and does a lot of content for Youtube. But that takes time and you basically hvave to do it full time, which both Nili and Jordan couldn't get to work. I think that is why GL didn't extend their contracts.
Yup, this. Nili initially stepped down from his role as tournament coordinator because he wanted to focus on his player career (+ a new clause at that time that prevented MS-associated persons to take part in tournaments with MS money) but as it didn't worked out for him, he quit full time playing and streaming earlier this year, thus his contract with GL wasn't extended.
What are the other remaining team tournaments that are negatively impacted by this?
For example, if you have 2 companies. One company has the best scientists, an incredible amount of money and always poaches the best scientists from the other company that does not have so much money. Who develops the better product ?
It is extremely unlikely that a non-gl member will win in 1vs1 tournaments with a big pricepool.
I understand why it is, but I don't like it and would like something else. For me personally, it makes the tournaments less worth seeing.
edit: I don't want to overdramatize with this article. I have the feeling that Hera is very open about his tournament strategies and is interested in other players getting better too.
I feel sad for The Viper thou. Big fan of his crazy strats
