Pro scene is boring
Pro scene is boring after hera betrayed his team and switched to gl.
Do you think anything will change in the next few years?

Well, Hera was looking for a team for the longest time now as aM was just a group of friends playing together.
I'm curious where weSports will go as they signed Liereyy and Heartt.

Well, after that aM just fell apart and gl removed nili and jorden for hera. I can't get over it yet :( And don't get me wrong. I can understand Hera's decision. But it's just a huge disaster for AoE 2

does Lierey go full time again?

Nili and Jordan both quit full time streaming which is why eventually left GL. Luckily, Nili is back in the Age scene as the new tournament coordinator for Microsoft.
And yeah, TG tournaments unless it's Nations Cup will be a lot more predictable these days as Hera is just too strong

Yep, that's part of his contract with weSports. He also has to stream a certain amount of hours per month

Years ago I really liked watching age tournaments. I really enjoyed the Escape Champions League and the Hidden Cup's, but for the last 2 years I've gotten very bored. When one tournament ends, another begins immediately afterward, so you can watch Viper vs Liereey every week, whereas before it was an incredible event.

I still watch tournaments while sleeping 11 I like the amount of tournaments.

I still watch most tournaments but skipped some the last couple of years. I watched TTL only from Playoffs on and almost entirely skipped all Warlords Memb hosted so far ^^

Hera is by far the most boring player. Viper is fun but rather politically correct and now focused on running a business. Memb is a hilarious caster and doesn't get enough love. Tatoh has some hilarious trolls but peaked at MoMR and now casts mostly in Spanish. Players with personality like 8th wonder who could prove entertaining don't get enough coverage. And so on.

The viper is lot of fun to watch but he's playing too many weird strategies

Hera's game-play gives me a headache when i watch it on his channel. Way too fast for me. Would rather watch his games on cast of empires or someone else

I disagree with his horse collar view :D Some civs need to get horse collar for a nice boost

GL specifically looks not only for players, but content creators. That's why they got Hera, because he streames a lot and does a lot of content for Youtube. But that takes time and you basically hvave to do it full time, which both Nili and Jordan couldn't get to work. I think that is why GL didn't extend their contracts.

Yup, this. Nili initially stepped down from his role as tournament coordinator because he wanted to focus on his player career (+ a new clause at that time that prevented MS-associated persons to take part in tournaments with MS money) but as it didn't worked out for him, he quit full time playing and streaming earlier this year, thus his contract with GL wasn't extended.

I don't see the problem here. The competitive AoE scene is pretty much all 1v1 tournaments anyway where the clan status doesn't matter. This also applies to the currently ongoing Rage Forest team tournament due to the drafting system they use.
What are the other remaining team tournaments that are negatively impacted by this?

I understand your argument and to some extent I agree with you. However, I see a problem in the fact that they always only get the best of the best together and exchange ideas and develop further in a closed circle. (especially in the AoE 2 scene because there aren't that many good players. (In the CS scene I have much less problems with it))
For example, if you have 2 companies. One company has the best scientists, an incredible amount of money and always poaches the best scientists from the other company that does not have so much money. Who develops the better product ?
It is extremely unlikely that a non-gl member will win in 1vs1 tournaments with a big pricepool.
I understand why it is, but I don't like it and would like something else. For me personally, it makes the tournaments less worth seeing.

edit: I don't want to overdramatize with this article. I have the feeling that Hera is very open about his tournament strategies and is interested in other players getting better too.

He has to be. Hera understands marketing. He'd rather be Top10 in a million player game, than Top1 in a struggling 10,000 player game.
