Is this the match?
I watched the replay, and your opponent just abused the market to get stone. Nothing seems unusual.
No.
You sell wood and food and buy stone. If you look at the replay I linked, it shows the breakdown. The player lost 4800 resources to gain 2200.
- did he win with a castle
He dropped a castle. Defended the 3 siege elephant push by the OP with a mangonel and OP quit calling his opponent a cheater. It was the most 800 ELO thing you could imagine. EDIT: It was a defensive castle too.

Bert Neff: would love to know how you hacked the game
Bert Neff: going to watch and report.
And bert neff resigned with:
17 vills more
800 points more.
2000 wood, 935 stone.
But 'DMG hacked' hahahaha. Classic crybaby thread in this forum.
Was that last paragraph really neccesary? Apart from that one I agree and can only recommend OP to watch their recs.
and instead of waiting for an answer - he run away to steam
also - it seems he had a higher rating
and - resigned loosing 3 Units to a defensive castle
before even fighting
for a winning objective
Yes.
In Spain there is a proverb that says: "Treat people how you want them to treat you"
I comment a lot on this forum and when someone says: "I'm a new player, I need some advices" I answer politely with several pieces of advice. But if someone comes with a cocky attitude, I respond the same way. And in this case, this guy has opened a post accusing another player of cheating and this harms the rest of the players who play this game because if someone who is doubting whether to buy the game gets into discussions and sees a title that says: 'Hacks', that person will probably not buy it and then we wonder why there are fewer players.
No, it really wasn't.
This proverb exists in a similar way in German. It says "What you do not want done to you, do not do it to others." (Was du nicht willst, was man dir tu', das füg' auch keinen anderen zu.) and basically says to treat each other with respect.
Trust me, I often have the urge to respond in a flippant way when I read something flippant, but I think it's better to stay above it and still be polite, even if it's hard.
At the end of the day, this puts you on a higher level because you don't fall down to the level of others.
You may be right. But you also end up losing patience in this forum when you read threads like: "Britons need to be nerfed" and I download the game and it's a guy with 700 elo who doesn't know how to hunt wild boar.
This forum should be used to help people, not to listen to people cry because they don't know how to play the game and they think that everyone around them is cheating or the game is poorly balanced.
If someone is humble and wants to improve, they can ask me to improve. But if someone is cocky and only wants to get steam clowns, I will laugh at that person.
