AI Villager Counts
Why is the AI hard capped on villagers depending on what difficulty you select rather than it being a percentage of the population limit?

For example, on Moderate the AI will only constantly produce villagers until they have approximately 38 villagers. But this is confusing to me because 38 villagers can be good on a 75 pop limit but if the pop limit is 125.150, or even 200 the AI still stops at 38 villagers as as long as Moderate is selected.

Now other difficulties follow similar trends. So for instance Hard the villager limit (the villager count when the AI stops constantly producing them is around 78. And over 130 villagers on hardest and extreme.

So I imagine a Moderate game should use a population limit of 75-100 otherwise, if its a 200 population limit, the AI doesn't utilize all the pop space on moderate.

Is that just what is making moderate easier than hard and so on? because even if they produced more villagers on moderate and hard, the AI is still not as aggressive with military compared to Hardest and Extreme.

An easy idea why it might be fixed and not percentage-flexible:
The AI plays build orders: 6 collect sheep, 3 collect wood; villager 10 gets a boar [or not, on easier difficulties they are not allowed to eat boars].
It will probably lead to more bugs if villager 21.7 gets the job to build a mining camp.

Also there is no real need to push medium difficulty. On hard is where the fun starts if you want to play "for real" and not just slow sim city like moderate. Also 200 pop is the common standard setting for 99.9% of games.

yeah 200 pop feels balanced compared to 200+ pop

Because its lower difficulty.

Its more of a script than an AI, and when the script runs out it stops doing anything extra

Does Extreme AI produces less Villagers in a 75 pop game? Or will it pop cap itself with Villagers?

That weaker AIs eventually stop Villager production is the main way they are balanced.

They're conscious of their villager count. They will delete them for military space.
