私も同じ症状でしたが、最新の Visual C++ 再頒布可能パッケージをインストールしたらゲームを起動できました。お試しあれ。
Don't fret it its actually simple enough simply specify to use proton experimental in the game's run options and then if you want multiplayer you just need to replace ucrtbase.dll with a newer 64bit version in order to not have the game desync.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1930722784 <-- this is a guide I made that details the exact process along with some extra tips to help folk run the game on lower spec rigs...its pretty easy to follow for just about anyone.
As far as i'm concerned none of the games i play are what you would call mainstream AAA titles nor are they from infamous publishers like EA/UBI/Acti-Bliz so on that regard i'm pretty much worry free and my entire gaming catalog runs under linux either native or trough proton experimental.
Best resource for checking out just how well supported is a non native game under linux is via https://www.protondb.com/ if a game is rated gold or above over there then you got nothing to worry about and most folk that leave a rating will give detailed descriptions of any tweak they may have used if such a thing was even necessary(tho one needs to filter out most ubuntu(and its derivatives) user's reviews as those are generally total novices when it comes to linux and their OS is often times so dated in terms of kernels&gpu drivers that its simply expected they would run into issues with the more recent games/not know how to properly apply even some rudimentary tweaks listed by other users(like failing to extract&override files in some specific folders/add launch game parameters into steam/switch&use a certain proton version that is known to be compatible with a certain game/... )
Either way i've been a linux user myself ever since windows vista reared it ugly head many years ago and with each passing day showcasing more and more negligence, greed and incompetence from M$ i'm certainly ever more pleased with my decision to exit the windows ecosystem... these days the transition from one OS to another is so much more hassle free then it was years ago to the point where its just as easy to install and use either one off them, tho security&privacy wise windows tends to be severely under-performing these days(heck they even deliberately chose to violate user privacy and openly track&analyze theyr user's activity)
