AoE 2 Victors and Vanquished DLC but no new civilizations!?
A new DLC but no new Civilizations?! Company just lost 15 sales from my group of friends who only play versus team mode weekly. All we care for with these DLCs are new civilizations, without that, there's no point to pick it up for us. Disappointing as we were looking forward to more new civilization(s) for the next DLC.

It was announced earlier even before February 23rd that this dlc would not add new civilizations that was supposed to be a campaign dlc. We already have more than enough civilizations anyway on AoE II: DE. Why complain and why do you seem to be surprised?

Not to mention even before this dlc we had a few cosmetic dlc packs recently as well from the previous year. Expect more civilizations to come later this year or from 2025, but we do not necessarily need to have dlc packs adding civilizations twice a year like the previous year from 2023 with RoR (adds Romans in addition to Age of Empires) and Mountain Royals. If you do not like single player then obviously this dlc was not meant for you.

hm.. how about more coop campaigns?
"what? we already have coop campaigns"
Well yea.. how about a second coop campaign release wave?

I'm trying to say is, turn all these campaigns into coop games. They were so enjoyable. The custom ones are broken.

Can't honestly say i'm impressed by the announcement of this DLC by using UGC content instead of their own, not making it about campaigns. i mean Japan and Norway could easily do with two new campaigns of their own. i'm not likely to get this one, simply because it's based on UGC content instead of their own work, as a result no real effort was put into it and a blatant cash grab for that little effort.

No new civs = easy pass

Guess what, you can control which DLC you buy, isn't that groundbreaking?

I mean, suppose you don't like the content of a dlc....while the developers still didn't' add a "DON'T BUY THIS" button to steam, if you carefully avoid clicking on the "BUY" button you can actually avoid buying it, as long as you don't click there. That's some PRO life-hack I'm sharing here, treasure it!

You're right, no one is forced to buy it.
You can never please everyone.

I don't see why they didn't make a Vandals civ when they added a Vandal scenario in Geiseric. This is another instance of Goths representing an unrelated Germanic peoples in the Migration era, which they already do with Langobards and Saxons.

Vandals are just Goths.
Goths that invaded North Africa, and went extinct in less than a century, but Goths regardless.

how many civs do you want the game to have?

All of them.

It's great that we finally get more historical battles!

I already preordered the DLC.

Hopefully we will also get some more campaigns in the future. There are still many civilizations without a campaign.

14 of the scenarios are free in the worksop. Only 5 of them are new. 5 scenarios for 13 dollars. It's a cashgrab.

Don't forget they are reworked and they have added voice acting (in all supported languages!).
