Bring back offline LAN

Bought the game for myself, and for my friend, who live in a rural area with terrible internet, only to be extremely disappointed after finding out offline LAN games are impossible without an internet connection.

Either remove the 'LAN PvP' tag from the Store Page, or bring back actual LAN functionality.

I understand being connected to dedicated servers for Ranked games, but if we just wanna play offline skirmishes vs AI, or each other, surely offline LAN should be an option...

Sadly, offline LAN isn't a thing anymore since HD aka 2013. However, luckily enough, MP games in AoE 2 aren't too demanding if you and your friend pick a server that's very close to your location.
As you're from Serbia (according to your Steam profile), the westeu server should be quite close to you.

Thanks for your input.
Our biggest problem is that our internet connection is unstable (i.e. it frequently drops out). So we DC often and are unable to play that way consistently.

Offline LAN = Piracy invitation.
The game needs optimized latency middle east and africa servers tho, pings are too bad

It might be listed that way because there is an option when creating a game to use a LAN server... but you can't access that menu without being online.

It definitely shouldn't be tagged as LAN

And "piracy invitation" is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ excuse.
