I don't know about the campaigns much but it's like buying a better AoE1:de with Romans thrown in as a new AoE2 civ. So provided you like the first age of empires you'll probably enjoy a lot of skirmish games here.

If you like age of empires 1, RoR will give you 7 new campaigns and a bunch of new civilizations to try out. I wasn't sold on it at first, but I ended up buying it so I could do the achievements and I actually enjoy the new campaigns.

Worth if you want AOE1 content. Someone commented above that campaigns are good, so I recommend anything but the ported version of AOE1DE campaigns.

For AOE2, sadly things are lacked. There is only one new civ. I recommend looking up custom campaigns like Aegidus, Romans vs Barbarians...

Yeah the ported AOE1:DE Campaigns are really showing their age lol. When I said the new ones are good I specifically meant the new ones - Trajan / Sargon / Pyrrhus.

I enjoyed the 3 campaigns that came with it. I also had some fun getting all the achievements. It's also nice to have some quality of life features that AoE1 lacks even it's DE version. Also gates.

It's not just our average standards of RTS nowadays. Too unpolished to be honest. ROR exclusive is extremely great and as fun as AOE2 campaign can get too.

Also female villages + unique skins for seperate unit upgrade tier + too many good decorations ingame editor. It's a treat for the few who spent their time enjoying it.

It has about 7 or so campaigns, i think one campaign has about 12 missions.
It took me about 30 minutes to finish one mission.
You get a new faction for AoE2DE and you can play the AoE1 factions in skirmish.

Ofcourse, AoE1 comes with all the shortcomings. Lets be frank, AoE1 never was really great or even close as good as AoE2.
However, i played about 3 skirmish matches 4v4 with Ai and it was fun.
It might be a lighter version than AoE2, but because of that it plays differently and i find that to be quite fun.

I think during the current sale, the DLC was worth it.
Its like 8€ and for that its enough content.
And i heard they might release even more campaigns.

If you want to only play AoE2, then its not worth it.
Then its just one new faction with 2 new units.

If you like to play AoE1, then its easily worth it.

On discount, its worth it if you like AoE1. If you're only interested in AoE2, its overpriced for the one faction you get. However its a lot better than the full price.

Maybe worth getting, but it is probably one of the last dlc packs you should buy where I would only give it a 5.5 (with an extra .5 points added mainly because of new campaigns from Age of Empires that were added later) out of 10 rating which is not terrible but it does mean that it could have been better and I would only just barely recommend it. The rating I would give it is only 5.5 despite RoR having some improvements and has achievement objectives, because I think that AoE: DE has better campaigns than new campaigns from Age of Empires on RoR that are more challenging, only three new campaigns that are unique to RoR, no new campaign to play as for Romans besides mod use, different playstyle with different strategies and slightly different tech tree than RoR, does not have controversial team bonuses, controversy over this being a dlc instead of a spin off, and multiplayer more popular on AoE: DE than RoR. Only exception is The Mountain Royals perhaps only because it costs the same price as RoR and perhaps might have better reviews on Steam as well (which is currently mixed at 66%) if it was $5 cheaper. In my opinion all of the dlc packs are worth it even at full price, but RoR I think is the most controversial of them all and more controversial than even Mountain Royals.

I would always say yes, I just got into the game, and it is amazing, so any ♥♥♥♥ DLC they throw at me I would always buy...
Also now it is only 10 bucks, it's better than any burger out there.

False because it still costs $15 USD at least on Steam (although it might cost different from other countries outside of the U.S), but it is experiencing a 50% discount right now until November 29th.

It really is $15 USD? Wow, here I grabbed it for $10 CAD with the 50% off.
I find the core AoE2 amazing, not sure about this DLC, but it looks good enough. Maybe it's not what people expected, but hey, it is way cheaper now.

You are totally wrong about the pricing. ROR got discounted this sale event too. I check the references on SteamDB.

AOE2DE + ROR, which is 4.99 + 7.49 somewhat equals to 13 bucks of US.

I haven't mentioned the AOE2+ROR bundle which goes with discount of 17%, which will bring down the price for little more than $10 USD.

So no, the discount nowadays is below $15, as opposed to when ROR release - at that time I purchased the bundle which cost me $15 USD in theory. ROR at that time was 100% of its price.

So no, my man Dead4Life got it correctly.

I looked at RoR before I commented. It still said 14.99 USD (because I live in the United States), but cut in half for $7.50 USD until November 29th. I was however unaware of any bundles from AoE II: DE and cannot seem to find any bundles on Steam for AoE II: DE.

It's on sale for 50% during Autumn Sale this year, so yeah its price was cut half on 21st.
