Problem Winning Attila the Hun Campaign.

I'm trying to play The Fall of Rome in the Attila campaign, and for some reason Patavium just won't surrender. They have no buildings, no units, and I even went so far as to take out all of their walls. They seem to have nothing left on the map at all, but according to the game they haven't surrendered, so the game isn't over.

They have a town center in Verona, did you destroy that as well?

Yeah, I see some Patavium farmland in Verona where it used to be, but no town center, and no Patavium units anywhere on the map that I can see.

I have same problem now ( im destroy all units on the map, and game stuck

I tried using a cheat code to kill Patavium, but none of the cheat codes seem to work either.

You might have to report this bug by email involving this specific mission. It sucks that you cannot complete it.

I am having the same problem, literally destroying all buildings and walls on the entire map

I won this mission some days ago and didn't encounter the problem. However, this bug is due to TC or wonder unfinished foundations. Please note that Patavium actually builds 2 wonders.

Try to attack Verona's wonder first (move 15 siege rams to the southeastern gate and use 10-15 trebuchets to target their wonder; note: I decided to attack Verona because I couldn't get in time to their wonder if I attacked Patavium first), then Patavium. After that, Aquileia. In my game, Patavium managed to build its 2nd wonder while I was attacking Aquileia. Let them finish the wonder, then try to demolish it with rams. After that, keep some hussars to the western gate in Patavium as purple villagers will go for fish to the northwest, next to your main base. Also, they build an additional lumber camp near Mediolanum.

Then I pushed on Verona from the north and after an endless battle I destroyed their northern buildings (towers, archery and stable). Prior Patavium's new Town Center, I destroyed Verona's market if that matters. After destroying purple TC and killing the last 6 villagers coming out of it, Patavium regularly resigned some seconds before Verona and at the end of the game only a purple champion remained alive on the map.

If that matters, I killed green villagers with Attila, I mean the last ones who attempted to build their wonder.

I won this at Hard and used no cheats.

IMPORTANT!!!! DO NOT destroy Aquileia's market: build your market to northwest and create 10+ carts, so you won't lack gold to mass your trebuchets.

wait for the December update (they said on the PUP they fixed the bug).

Either wait for official update or switch to PUP version and finish the campaign there.

Is that possible to play the updated version in early access? What are the steps to do that?

There is a beta branch that says PUP dec 2023, I guess you mean that one? Just select the beta branch in the steam settings.

Try search around this AOE2 Steam discussion subforums. There are plenty of different channels like #game bug #specialization issues #modding and #PUP.

Btw, since most channel has dedicated thread to explain what their purpose, I will list out somethings about PUP:

-You can only save a file one time on PUP, and you won't be able to overwrite it. Just to be safe, saving is your most problem.

-Multiplayer is less supported on PUP version, unless you explicitly create matches with people using PUP version.
