MAX POPULATION TO 1000
Is there any way to increase the maximum population to 1000 like in the classic edition?

would like to know this too. What is the max population for campaign and skirmish?

300 is max via settings (though feel like I've seen 500 somewhere??). Standard setting is 200

Since they changed it, it should be possible to view the file that scripts population caps and add in 1000 to the list of numbers

The max is 500 per player in skirmish mode.

my cpu can handle it: All players' population cap increased to 1,000. ("Jolly Co-operation" event)

Check the workshop for population mods?

I love the concept of this franchise but the population size kills it for me.

I would love to see a re-release of Empire Earth.

That would be hard to handle that many units, lol.

Your computer can handle it, but have you tried to play a 4v4 TG on the internet? You forget what other people can realistically handle before 1) The server desyncs and 2) Someone else cannot handle the massive quantity of players and destruction being rained down somewhere else.

you'd be lucky if it synced correctly at all past 200, i mean 8,000 individual units, hundreds of buildings, flying feathery parasites, hairy four legged scavengers and herbivores, plus entries for fish, berry bush, gold and stone deposits, then you got individual trees and bushes.

1000'S of units in game is possible and been shown in other RTS games AND you don't need high end-specs necessarily.

AOE2 is not optimised or designed to handle that many units, but you can use mods and test it yourself.
