Only civs from aoe1 against civs from aoe1. Everything else would be a balancing nightmare !

No, you'll be able to play AoE 1 in the AoE 2 DE engine, so it's like a re-remastered AoE 1. You can only play AoE 1 civs against other AoE 1 civs, you cannot play Cartheginians Vs. Britons or something like that.

It will probably have a ranked multiplayer though.

Can anyone confirm if we're getting all the original campaigns + 3 new ones?

If before the expectation was that the entire AOE I would be adapted for AOE II, including the campaigns, at the exact moment, with the information we have, that is, without the campaigns having been specifically mentioned neither in the teaser trailer, nor on the Return of Rome page on Steam, everyone already imagines that the only campaigns available will be the new three.

Strange I know, but adapting the AOE I campaigns to the fluid gameplay and QoL of AOE II, making them AOE II campaigns, with narration and those images that go along with the story, would be a huge job, they wouldn't have left out of the marketing if they had been adapted.

The narrative of the three new campaigns, which differs greatly from the narrative of the AOE I campaigns is also a proof. So this unfortunately seems to be wrong information, from before today's announcement.

I want to arrive on the 16th and see that all the AOE I campaigns have been adapted as well, it would be an incredible surprise, but at the moment it seems that this will not happen.
