Yep. It's much better to hold shift and rightclick your scout around your town center to find boars and resources rather than relying on auto-scout. You can queue up a whole bunch of locations for it to go to and adjust accordingly to your needs.

@OP: Set waypoints with your scout in a circle-like shape going away from the starting point and try to find all the extra sheep (2x2 = 4, asuming it's Arabia), both boars, berries, gold and stone :)
The opponent's TC is in an "orbit" with your TC, so just let your scout ride a big arc around the map once you found everything at home to scout your opponent.
I don't think it's a limit you'll ever reach in DE. If I recall, SOTL tested it out in one of videos to see if there was still a limit as there was in the previous versions, and he found that at a certain point it stops showing the flags for new orders issued but it still properly tracks all the orders.
