Water walls
Since the first release of AOE2 when i played the Constantinopla campaing and saw the walls on the water i started dreaming about this. Microsoft can you make my dream come true ?? It would be nice if Fish ships could build walls on water, at least on shallow waters

Honestly, I like it. It doesn’t sound too crazy. What could it hurt?

A potential argument against this: Not every civilization would know how to build or utilize water walls, but maybe they could add it as a technology, or make it an exclusive ability for a future civ.

This would give Fishing Ships the ability to quick wall. That actually sounds really cool.

It's a water overhaul mod that adds walls, gates, towers, and a whole new roster of ships.

I really need, at least... Let the fishing ship build it in Map Editor.

I do understand the balance, but campaign only which is about naval battle will be more fun.

Needless to say, I'm disappointed when found out the ship is unable to build seawall and seagate when you set the training location for the FS via triggers.

Do teach me if you find a way to make it buildable in Vanilla.

I haven’t actually played with that mod. I just watch all of Spirit of the Law’s videos :).

He’s super informative, makes things easy to understand, and he’s got a great voice that’s destined to narrate just about anything.

I don’t know much about modding, or the requirements you need for this particular one, but hopefully that helps. =D

Sadly, it's not what I'm looking for.

I'm still trying to figuring out how to let Sicilian UU and Fishing ships building extra buildings.

And I have figured it out that seems like they are programmed to stick with specific building.

To be specific, the playtesters would use the sea walls and sea towers to block off enemy access to the water instead of protecting their own shoreline.

As opposed to someone walling themselves off on land battles? Seems like a relatively dubious argument. I can see it being a hindrance on more narrow water wayed maps. However you again can say the same thing if someone just slaps a bunch of walls on a regular land battle.

There is no Ram style Water unit, so Water Walls would be used offensively, to grief lock players into their own coasts, which would be VERY toxic gameplay.

It is more that they would wall off the opponent into their own islands, and it was very toxic to play against.

On Land battles, Militia line units and Rams can deal with Walls, then you have Petards, Trebs and Bombards.
Aside from Bombards and Petards, there are no equivalent units to the others (which are also available in the earlier Ages) on the Water, and introducing such units, or giving Fireships a bonus against defense buildings, would have severe knock-on effects for the whole Water balance.
In any regard, nobody could ever wall and tower deep waters, so unless you want some very thin lines of coastal defences, that only serve to stall out the game a bit, or offensive coast wall laming; it is better to not have Water Walls.

Possibly with water bombard towers and water fire towers 11.

Plus a Greek V Persia big sea map so you need to make navy, instead of highland maps where you make 2 galleys or 2 fire ships and then cannon galleon 11.

I don't think they can complain about people using water walls, when,

The water map design is usually a square river around the edges of the map, easy for demolition ships, no wonder everyone hates water maps 11. With lots of islands dotted around it for Heated Shot castles.

Apart from Baltic all the water maps are built like this instead of a big open sea, easy for fire ships and demolition ships 11.

See people using Galleys on twitch and they get melted due to there being always a square land making it two rivers into your dock 11. So fire ships in one river and demolition ship in the other river easy 11.
