The Kamayuk is also quite good against infantry due to its +1 range.
- You should basically play them like Aztecs, but you have way better pikes and arbalests but way worse monks.
- Slingers are situational because -1 damage (compared to xbows) is a big deal. They are great against infantry based compositions, but we usually use them against eagles/huskarls and big masses of champions. Otherwise, xbows are better all around.
The main problem with a skirms + slinger combo is that you die to compostions with lots of knights, light cav, skirms, scorpions or mangonels. And you should add need siege units to destroy buildings. But for the campaign against meso civs it should work fine along with siege rams or trebs.
Kamayuks are better than champions thanks to the +1 range. They are deceiptively powerful despite the unimpressive base damage.
