Do Relic Carts generate gold?

I’m on the second level of the Portuguese campaign. The secondary objective is to find the Relic Cart, which I did, but I couldn’t figure out what to do with it. It wouldn’t garrison inside my Monastery. At the end of the game, which I lost because I ran out of gold, I looked and it generated zero gold for my civilization. What gives? I’m familiar with the relics that Monks carry to the Monastery for gold, but these Relic Carts are different.

Relic carts are special units only found in some scenarios. They're not like actual relics, they're usually just tied to secondary mission objectives. In this case, you're supposed to bring the relic cart to one of the castles and it will give you a one time gold payment in exchange.

They aren't relics. They're scenario editor units. The only functionalities they have are the ones set by scenario triggers. Without those, they have no function.
