Advanced Tutorial game crash

Anyone have issues with the game crashing in the advanced tutorial, it seems to only crash when playing the video from AoE 2013

I am just having the same problem now. The guy on the video said "this is an important lesson so listen up", then the game crashed to desktop!

I'm unsure if the advanced tutorials are just videos, so to skip them (or find them elsewhere), or whether i'm missing out on something playable. Did you find a fix for it?

I have not, sadly. I will keep checking but let me know if you find anything.

Have encountered the same issue

Had same problem. Seemed to have solved it by removing the tutorial video from the following folder:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\AoE2DE\resources\en\campaign\movies"

If you copy them somewhere else you can still watch them, outside the game.

I normally skip them to avoid the issue. But yeah, it's quite bad this happens.

Just encountered this issue with the advanced tutorial as well. The very first one. The slideshow is fine it seems, but the replay of the video itself hard crashes the game. If you quickly hit escape you can sometimes skip it and then the actual gameplay works just fine.

Big thanks to RageKage, his trick got me past this bug. Any chance this is on the dev teams radar to fix?
