Farmers just stop doing stuff?
Anyone else gets that problem? I wasnt attacked, didnt ring a town bell or anything, yet sometimes i notice an idle villager button and find a farmer just... chilling next to the twon center and an empty field...

Happens to fishing boats and traps as well... it doesnt happen alot, but I would like to avoid this...

-This usually happens when you run out of wood. I recommend watching your replay to when the farm expired and what your wood count was.

it happens when your fields expire and you dont have it set to auto renew or if you run out of wood. same with fishing, you need to renew the fish traps.

No one said you were but just giving you examples of what could possibly be the issue.

I think though if you have 2 villagers on 1 field after it is finished 1 villager will reseed while the other goes idle.

I have noticed this as well, but I think it has no actual effect, as in it's just a visual bug? I always forget to try, but when you see an idle farmer on his assigned farm, try selecting him and NOT reordering him to do anything, instead observer the amount of food on him. If it's actually stagnant, it's a true bug, if the food count rises it's just a visual bug and low priority.

It might actually be part of DE's general pathing problems, maybe the farmer gets obstructed by a random different unit, and gets stuck? If it's that, then it would explain why I often see this bug, but usually don't notice a dip in food production in long games, as eventually all farmers should start being idle...

If you use a farmer to build a building and the farm runs out before the building is finished, another farmer will go to that farm and reseed after dropping their resources off at the town center, leaving you with an idle villager and a dead farm that nobody is going to reseed unless you do it manually.

I noticed that when i select for example 8 vils, start building farms while i don't have wood for all 8 farms (only for 6 for example), wait for wood while they're building them, then build the 2 remaining ones while i have them all selected, some of them(2-3) tend to go idle after a while and require manual pointing to the farm that is not in use.

Allways, at least one farmer per game stop working. Also, villagers dont get back to work after shelter on TC

Even if you use the "Back to work" button?

-Recorded games are the best way to see this.
