The burmese tigers 5 min achievement
Anybody has tips for killing the king in 5 minutes ? It seems impossible... He starts running to the castle when I get close and he is faster than a horse, maybe as fast as a horse with husbandry. I think in the HD version I could go south and block him by building a palissade, but that doesn't seem possible anymore.

Hug the southern palisade wall on the outside. There is a fairly lengthy path that ends in trees, once you're there make a hole in the wall and go in. You'll now be "behind" the king and when he starts to flee, he will run straight into your Arambai and die.

A second method is taking your villagers south to the small river near blue, building a dock and getting a transport, putting your Arambai on it and sailing east and landing near where you get the Gaia units. Then just run to the camp and kill the king same way as in the above method.

I did this one unintentionally just playing the mission without even knowing the achievement existed. I even forgot getting any upgrades which probably makes it easier, especially forging, so it's definitely possible. Don't go towards the king, just accept that he will escape and set your goal to destroy the castle asap.

> Keep moving your army to the right from the very beginning. Don't stop to attack enemies, instead "orb walk", that means move, shoot/attack and kill one enemy, then move again, then shoot/attack again etc.
> Use your monk hero to convert the first battle elephant that you encounter.
> Don't walk towards the king initially or try to block him, just walk straight south towards the castle. Keep moving and killing enemies in between but always move.
> Collect the gaia units on the right.
> Once you reached the castle, micro your units to get to it quickly and attack it with all your units. Especially important are the melee units and the onager. Use your (now 2) monks to convert additional elephants and also attack the castle with these.
> While attacking, keep moving closer with your ranged units. Once the king pops out, shoot him once and he dies.

I did this on hard difficulty which might make it easier, as there might not be battle elephants to convert on other difficulties. When the king died, I had about 15 seconds left. Getting the +1 melee attack upgrade should make it a lot easier and give you more time.

I got the bastard, thanks ! Didn't see the narrow path behind the palissade. @Capybara I did try this but was always a few seconds too late.
