Thank you for your report. Are you referring to replaying, so watching back a game that has already been played? Or are you referring to playing a game from a save?
For quick help, please share a screenshot of the issue or a quick video clip (simply press Windows Key + Alt + R to start recording). Recordings are saved here: C:\\Users\YourUser\Videos\Capture
You can upload screenshots/video clips to gofile.io and share the link here in a new comment.
Thanks!
Thank you for providing the video! Is the drop down menu not working where it says GAIA? You should be able to choose between the different players as well as gaia.
A few steps I would recommend:
1. Disable all your mods, no exception
2. Restart the game
3. Close the game and verify the integrity of your files in your Steam Library (Age of Empires II > Properties > Local Files > Verify
4. Restart the game again, watch a replay and see if the drop down menu works again
Thank you for providing another video and trying all steps! It looks like some mods may still be influencing your game as the teal Town Center shows a teal range indicator, which is not a default setting. The default range indicators are all black.
I would recommend re-installing the game, re-installing Steam, verifying the game files, recording a new game and then trying to watch that new record to see if this fixes the issue.
Hope this helps!
