AOE 2 DE Micro-stutters, freezes and ocasional crashes

Hello there,

As mentioned in the title i have this issue with the game. I've been researching this matter for almost 2 weeks now to no avail.
1.All my drivers are up to date
2.Re-installed the game a couple of times
3.I have no malware bytes software
4.I disabled even windows antivirus
5.Tried with V-sync on-off, also with multiple resolutions from 1080p to 4k
6.Tried with mods disabled
7.Disabled the record games option
8.Uninstalled capture age

Is there anything else that i could do to fix this issue? every 1-2 min it stutters for a fraction of a second. the longer the game last the more often it starts happening and also the stutters become longer, i've had countless 1-2 second freezes past the 40-50 min mark on the ingame timer.

Having the same issues. Game used to play just fine weeks (and months) ago; has been freezing up and unable to play just in the last few weeks. ???

Unstable internet connection. Micro-stutters happen even in single player games till i disable the network adaptor. Then game works fine

Something is seriously wrong with the files within the game, its running slow and freeze/crashing every game for me also.
I have 500+ hours without a crash and now I can't get thru a single match.
I reported this issue to their gaming support service stating i tried all the methods op used, and sent a dxdiag attachment too.
They told me to update drivers, disable virus, uninstall reinstall.
A really Pathetic answer.
I think they know this issue is there, and will sort it next patch.
This happened before, during a patch jan '21.

So what you are saying is that if u disable ur internet connection the stutters stop? Haven't tried that. But then again that is a pretty bad workaround that only works for single player, if at all.

Even for me game crashes lot of time, late game mutliplayer, it will freeze and then crash

Mostly happens with AI games. When my game crashes I verify my files, and that clears it up if it's my computer. But other people are still crashing. It's mostly AI games though.

I used to only crash in 8 player matches, but just crashed in 2v2 so it is getting worse.

Update drivers = Go to driverscloud

Malware = install malwarebytes

There are also often problems with the Visual C++ libraries (some threads on steam already exist, look it up!)

Launch several searches for MAJ windows in a row (sometimes bug)

Turn off your computer (too many people complain that everything is fine and suddenly it's not working anymore but never turn off their computer, congratulations, you've burned your ram, you can nevertheless empty it by turning off your computer but it will have to consider changing it soon :))

Finally disable "fast start" on Windows.
