Can I really save both TCs on hard?

split your units up into two groups, send 1 group to each TC, focus the armored elephants first, then kill the rest of melee units (scouts) and then worry about the archers last. ideally you want to save the north TC first since you will get an archery range so you can make skirms. but if the south TC ends up taking more damage then worry about saving that one. when you save one TC, use your vils to either gather wood (if north TC) or make an archery range (if south TC) and then make a few skirms to finish up the rest of the crossbows.

Ty. Managed to 'save' both TCs and earned the achievement.
However, enemy factions push me pretty hard.
What do I do when I'm restricted to Castle Age?
Shrivamsha and Chakrams are not worth the resources.
Seems Gurjaras are more gold intensive than Hindustanis.
Should I compose my army with armored elephants, skirms and pikemen?

I got 10 monks. Converted all the army I needed out of the enemies. That's how I play all campaigns anyway unless their monks are trash, like the mongol monks for instance. A lot of Camels, Cavalry Archers and Elephant Archers until they researched Heresy (some of them). I also let them fight one another and did not interfere when they were fighting and killing each other. Same for 2nd where I actually bait enemy units with the hero from one enemy base to the other, bait a group of swordsmen near an enemy TC, there they stall the other enemy TC, their eco and also get those swordsmen killed and prevent them from raiding me instead. Two birds with one stone.
